I have been all over these discussion boards. They are awesome!
I have a couple of questions, first:
Can you move while being in the reserves? How long is the process/ what is the process of changing one's base?
In what ways can I improve my application for OCS?
Off topic: I have long(er) hair and I would prefer not to cut it. I have been told in the Army Reserves I should be fine if I can secure it. Is this true?
Yes you can. Do you anticipate moving? You have to go through your chain-of-command.
College GPA and you better be an upstanding Soldier. Otherwise, your buck stops there. Your commanding officer has to endorse your OCS application.
For annual drill and annual training you need to be within grooming standards. That means a haircut right before those periods!
Between those, you need not worry.

You can always move. However, it is your responsibility to attend drills and annual training until you transfer units to someplace closer if that is what you want to do. Some people move and just continue to drill where they were before.
Thank you everyone for the feedback. Yes, I am a woman. I am happy to hear that I can keep my hair and also, thank you for the tips on OCS.
My recruiter is trying to convice me to go enlisted and then he says I'll have a good chance of getting picked up later to be an officer but, I am not sure about that.
If I want to be an officer, should I go enlisted before hand or just go for it?
Also, I had a undergrad and grad school gpa of 3.85 and 3.9. Thanks!
If you have the ability and/or desire to lead, and you have something to offer the Army (and the board WILL want to know what that is, maybe not in a direct question, but in your personality) then by all means, apply straight off the bat for OCS.
Thank you SgtLtUSMC and IronErik for the insight on becoming an officer.
Just for clarity. Can I serve in the reserves as an "officer" without going to OCS? Or will I be enlisted while I wait to hear back from the board/go to OCS/
