Kind of a bizarre question here but I am wondering if my son's hours in a Marine Corps Amphibious Assault Vehicle would qualify for boating hours towards a Six Pack License? He's Active Duty, a mechanic/crewman on them and runs them from time to time as they all have to know how and have experience operating them. He's been doing that for about 2 1/2 yrs, (3 yrs of service in the USMC).
I have no clue if they keep records on water usage vs land.
sanrayo is correct, the time can be used as long as he can produce documentation (i.e., qualification letter, letter from Commanding Officer). The best thing would be a letter from CO outlining total time, listing the vessel specifications (length, gross tonnage, power, etc.) and the areas that the vessels were operated.
