I recently filed for SC Cataracts (removed in Dec 08 and Mar 09 replaced with inserts) related to my Diabetes. I'm receiving SC compensation for Prostate Cancer and Diabetes from Agent Orange and my opthamologist answered the VA's inquiry when he got it. I have a C&P on Wednesday with the VA's Opthamologist and am curious what the purpose is and what they're looking for. I figured my doc's answers would take care of it...do they just wanna verify?

Please review the material and topics already on this board. I have several Agent Orange topics including diabetes type 2.
If your physician makes the statement in "my opinion the veterans eye condition is secondary to the diabetes type 2" the VA will consider the claim. Note key word is consider. there must be a medical link, not specualation.
C&P exams are to determine is the condition is related to service directly, or secondary to the service connected disability.
