Tonight I told them about this group and they wanted to know if they can call them selves DVG. I am the only one who gets on the computer so I told them I would ask to see if this would be OK.
Yours in comradeship.

SOUNDS LIKE YOU HAVE BANDED WITH A TRUE GROUP OF "DERELICT VETERANS" JOE....YOU SHOULD ABSOLUTELY BE ABLE TO USE THE LOGO AND MEMBERSHIP..AS WELL.

THE DVG WAS NOT EVER ESTABLISHED FOR "ONLINE" VETERANS ONLY !!

IF THERE IS OPPOSITION, FEEL FREE TO ADDRESS ME..I AM HERE TODAY (at least available till 2400 hrs)

Eres Tu!
Freddy

No opposition here..

I make a motion to allow these gentlemen to

join the DVG.

Can I get a second?

As the founding member of the DVG and reading the postings by JAMES, STEVE, others...Under normal circumstances I WOULD NOT have reactivated my friggen account, but after reading the posts, I feel compelled, as follows:

HAZEGRAY aka STEVE is RIGHT !!

and you JAMES are wrong...diplomacy belongs at the State Department and left for politics...The Service Branch...IF you were a TRUE LEADER OF MEN...had no place for it. The Army..for me...wanted LEADERS, simple as that. Make no mistake about it though, there were plenty of brown nosers and politicians and diplomats while I served...BUT I WAS NOT ONE OF THEM...I raced through the ranks quickly from Private to Sergeant..Because I LED TROOPS, and did it well. I went from E-1 to E-7 in 7 years, and promoted to E-7 OUT OF BOTH THE PRIMARY AND SECONDARY ZONES, in fact, I wasn't in any zone, but my record spoke for itself....sure Combat and Combat Arms MOS's helped along the way I am sure, BUT THEY WERE NOT THE DEFINING REASONS WHY.

I ran against many a Tree...to be sure...

I peesed off many a Commander along the way...but I prevailed James...not because I walked any line, fine, course or slippery...NO....Contrary, I prevailed because I was right!!......I stood my ground. The troops under my command came first, middle and LAST..there were no compromises, and I was NEVER one to compromise either, because I was charged to LEAD and to care for the soldiers and see to their needs...THEIR BUFFER TO ABUSE FROM PEOPLE OF RANK, COMMAND OR OTHERWISE...WAS...ME !! and i did my job a best as it could possibly be...I can say with pride that all those that served under me KNEW that I would be FAIR...that I would LISTEN and that I would STAND MY GROUND...AND THAT IF THE SOLDIER WAS RIGHT...HE KNEW...YES..HE KNEW...THAT HE COULD COUNT ON ME TO STAND WITH HIM AND DEFEND HIM....I NEVER PLAYED THE DIPLOMATIC GAME JAMES, AND I NEVER LOST EITHER..THAT IS THE THING ABOUT LEADERSHIP...AS LONG AS YOU LEAD WITH HONOR AND DEDICATION..THERE WILL NEVER COME A TIME TO COME CLOSE TO INSUBORDINATION...I HAVE BEEN INSUBORDINATE MANY TIMES IN MY CAREER...OR SO THE COMMANDERS SAY...BUT I MYSELF...WOULD SAY...NO..I WASN'T INSUBORDINATE, I SIMPLY..LED !!

I am sorry for you if you feel that at any time, a need to walk a line with the colonel(what made him right in the first place? his rank?...perhaps he was wrong all the time and you simple didn't excercise the strength and duty of YOUR RANK...

Dave_M and I do not like each other...fact

I can live with that...fact

This site consistently claims "private enterprise" well..so what? IT IS STILL A FORUM, it is still a place for discussion, venting is no more than a form of discussion, dissention is no more than an expression...THE POWERS THAT BE DO ABUSE THE POSITION AND SITE BY SHEER INTIMIDATION OF REPRISAL VIA "SUSPENSION"...BUT RARELY DOES ONE....WITH THE EXCEPTION OF "RONCO" WHO I HAVE GREAT RESPECT FOR..STAND UP FOR ANYONE HERE...NOPE IT IS MUCH EASIER TO SIT ON THE SIDELINES eh? and watch till the storm blows over...now RONCO...I have read Dave_M openly state frustration with..but nothing ever happens to RONCO..why? Because he doesn't back down..and..HE IS RIGHT.

So the question becomes why do some get corrected...suspended...threatened with...and others go unscathed?....Maybe paRT OF THE REASON LIES WITHIN THE dvg and its own meaning...you all have that wonderful looking icon...but rarely do you people live by its meaning...I wonder HOW MANY OF YOU WOULD HAVE COME BACK OUT OF INACTIVITY LIKE I JUST DID TO STAND UP FOR ONE VETERAN WHO MENTIONS MY NAME AND IN SO DOING IS ASKING ME TO RESPOND????? HOW MANY OF YOU WOULD STAND UP FOR ANYONE..HERE?...Don't tell me..!!!
You need to look at yourself and answer...for the answer lies in the mirror right next to the question.

with all due respect...BRUCE did not come up with the DVG name..I did.
with all due respect...It was me that made up the motto and its creed

and with all due respect....it was me that felt LET DOWN because so many of you have failed yourself by not living up to what it was all about.

James....While I consider you a great personal friend...I have in all my life drawn a line between friendship and my personal beliefs in right and wrong..and I suppose the easiest way to remain friends with everyone...would be to walk a DIPLOMATIC line....

But....yanno....it's not my style...I CALL IT THE WAY IT IS !!

ERES TU!!

FREDDY

WHILE I RESPECT YOUR STATEMENT...WITH ALL DUE RESPECT..I DISAGREE...AGAIN...

I TOLD IT LIKE IT WAS......NOT BECAUSE """""""SOMETIMES""""""""" A VET NEEDS TO HEAR IT THAT WAY....CONTRARY...IT IS HOW A VET NEEDS TO HEAR IT ALL THE TIME...HE GETS ENOUGH CRAP AND BULL AND RUN AROUND THE ROPE FROM ALL AROUND HIM...WHEN HE HEARD FROM ME...HE GOT A STRAIGHT ANSWER...NO MORE..NO LESS..

Freddy I thank you for responding and really hope you will not be a stranger!!!! My main reason for posting what I did had to do with a threat of suspension for asking in another forum for an E-7 marine to go to the DVG page. I am very glad you responded you are a "TRUE" LEADER in every aspect.

Yeah,OK I get your point...However which one are you saying you are?? Which one do you compare me to??

What difference does it make to most of the people on this thread anyway?

1.Leader:a person who rules or guides or inspires others?

2.Warlord:supreme military leader exercising civil power in a region especially one accountable to nobody when the central government is weak?

3.Dictator:a person who behaves in a tyrannical manner?

Does a True Leader leave his men behind to fend for themselfs???????????

Does a True leader walk away from his duties as a True Leader????

The fact is, you have your idea of what kind of leader you were, I have my idea of what kind I was Cool..I know of no True Leader or otherwise who would say he was not a True Leader....

You are my friend...I agree with "Most" of what you say when you are not "****ed" because when you are..you tend to "Speak your words" without holding back.

I will keep my Logo...not because I think it as a Nifty,Neat thing..I will continue to help out other Vets to the best of my ability, I will abide by the rules...Up to a point of almost being insubordinate..I will continue to keep you as a great friend..and I will stop useing the DVG site to continue a unnecessary argument, turning others off, makeing them think that DVG is just like the VFW,American Legion,or whatever other organization where there are a bunch of old guys fighting over stuff...

JAMES

I am in full control of my senses...I suspect that line with the asteriks leaned on the sarcastic side?

Matters not...I respect you opinion and I gave mine...Steve asked me to weigh in and I did.

I DID NOT ENCOURAGE ANYONE TO CONSIDER OR RETHINK THEIR MEMBERSHIP IN THE DVG...RATHER, I POSTED THAT ANY FAILINGS...ARE YOUR OWN...and I specifically answered back to a "Robert" and I quote "NO ONE CAN ANSWER THAT..BUT YOURSELF"

Btw..JAMES..I always speak my mind...I don't need medication or anything to induce me to do/say something...IT COMES NATURALLY..part of my character and make-up.

I don't know what the VFW etc., comments are about..I am not a member of any SVC ORG....so I have no comment/opinion about that, as I don't offer any on whether or not a vet should seek a VSO vs. ATTY..BECAUSE...I cannot feel their pain, cannot identify with their stresses, their financial difficulties nor the pain the family unit endures going without...without..while painfully awaiting the VA to meet them some just adjudication...I...CAN ONLY IMAGINE HOW TOUGH LIFE MIGHT BE FOR THEM...

Posts..should never give way to friendships, and with that I hope ours is still intact.
