There is also a thread here specifically for Hawaii

Not possible. Hawaii is an OCONUS Location and requires command sponsorship. She needs to go through a medical screening. The military will not pay for her things to be shipped, her plane ticket there, or anything else unless your orders are changed to accompanied. It will depend on what branch you are in and what rank/rate you are. Navy can require you to be E4 or higher to get accompanied orders even to Hawaii.

You can attempt it but it will be done at your own cost.

You need to report first, file the paperwork and then she comes. BAH will not start right away, it can take up to 45 days to come into the pay.

well the paying for her to come isnt an issue. I just want her to be with me. I am a spec-4 in the Army. I just want to make this quick and easy.

talking to your outbound assigments team and ask whats the chance of your being able to pull off aquiring a dep in route... means your command sponsorship etc has to be done before full approval, also your paying outta pocket but allows your wife to go with you (this providing the army allows that)

you wont be able to get any BAH even if she was with you on orders untill you have a house off base (otherwise you get placed in on base accomodation then its not applicable) and even then can take a while for your pay to be sorted we had to pay 2 months rent outta pocket before our allowances were sorted so be prepared for this

Democracy will survive until the government figures out it can bribe the people with their own money.

I think you may be underestimating the total out of pocket cost to you. Hawaii is not cheap.

This will neither be quick nor easy. Aquired dependents are hard for CONUS moves, it will be that much harder for OCONUS. You need to get an ORMOD for her, and depending on the amount of time you have left in the Army you may have to extend for that to occur (accompanied moves to Hawaii require longer minimum service than single).
