My husband is going to Iraq. Currently we're stationed at Ft. Lewis Washington. The military wouldn't help to get me back home to Texas, to my family. I'm having to pay for the entire move myself. My husband was told the only time he'd get help is when he gets out of the Army. He'd then get the move paid for to go home.

I am a military brat, but this is going to be my first move as a military wife. I don't know where to find the information for the pack out and who I talk to about all of that. Can you tell me where to find the information about the packout and when they will take my stuff, do I have to wait for him to finish his PITSTOP bootcamp before I move, even though we will have orders to a Coast Guard duty station before he leaves? I have a ton of questions and I don't know who to ask. Thanks.

I was told to look up this site, and thankfully I found the forum without much problem, however I am confused about what to expect or what I still need to do in preparation to my husbands orders to Guam. Currently they state unaccompanied as we were not married until after he took them. I did find out they are to change once he checks into his new command. What I don't know is how to set up the move, what myself and kids need before going, and where is this suppose to do check list at??? I have many questions to ask, so if anyone can reach me at halotiltd@yahoo.com I would greatly appreciate all the help I can get.

Hello Everyone: My name is Iris Finn. I am the spouse of an active duty U.S Marine for the past 18 years and currently live in the Virginia Beach, Virginia area. My husband is stationed at Norfolk Naval Base. We have a 15 year old daughter attending 10th grade. Relocating has become part of our lives. Since we married, we have made over 10 PCS moves and 2 self moves just to sell our homes before going overseas. I have gained a tremendous amount of experience with relocating from state to state or overseas and would like to assist anyone that needs help. I am a Realtor in Virginia but, am not using this site to gain business. If you need more information about an area you are relocating to, I can help you. Some sites you might want to research are as:
