My hubby and I just got married on Oct. 19th after his AIT training. He just left to go to his duty station. Before he left we did get me enrolled into DEERS and I got my ID. We are pretty confident that he will find housing for us in the civilian community. My question is this..about how long will it take before I get to go out with him? I understand that I have to be here when the movers come and get our stuff, but how long until the movers come? Also, will the Army pay for me to fly out there or will it come out of our pocket? I'm sorry if I sound silly with all this. I'm just really anxious for our new lives to start together! Thanks for all your help in advance!

He needs to request for his orders to be ammended to add you to them. That is the only way the military will move you and your stuff. That will take as long as they want it to, if at all.
Until that happens, they may not even let him live out in town.
It's hard, but all you can really do is wait and be patient.....or pay for everything on your own.
We need a little more information on the timeline to determine if the military will pay to move you to his duty location. You stated that you got married after his AIT training. If he had finished his AIT training and had already started proceeding to his duty location, then you may be considered an acquired spouse. If that is the case, then the military will not pay to move you or your stuff to the duty location.
They don't prepay for the flight, it gets reimbursed. But, there is the assumption that a move will be done by POV unless there isn't one.
There are a couple of items to look at here. The first is the acquired dependent situation. The chances of OP getting things moved at government expense is slim to none because of that. The second, on the off chance that the government did indicate that it might pick up the cost of her move, is if he already drove a car and has been reimbursed for the mileage. That would throw everything out the window because she should have travelled with him.
OP, I just hope that you don't have a lot of stuff and that it isn't a long trip because it looks like you will be paying for your move, assuming he is at a CONUS duty station.

I think its more that they wont pay to move a vehicle CONUS.
I've seen them re-issue orders to add on a dependent later and move them, but it was never a fast process.
Also, OP they may move your stuff if he didnt file a claim already for his own.
He flew out there. His car is still here unable to be used because it over heats. I'm trying to get it fixed. Him and I both have all of our stuff in a storage unit that is under his name. He said that someone told him that because we got married before he went to his duty station, they were going to add me onto his orders. I am so new at this. I'm trying really hard to understand. Thanks for all the answers!!
