Ok, it's just around the corner and I am just curious to get an idea of how many OS1's are going to be battling it out for sea duty. I'm creating this poll just for fun, so it should'nt be confused as a "real" account of how this next rotation season will pan out.

Maybe the MC can pipe in and show us some numbers. From what i can tell and from what is being shown in CG central, there is currently showing a little more than 25 sea billets coming available in 09'. Ofcourse, this does not include advancements, fleet ups, retirements or RELAD.

And for the MC, since he is all over the dream sheets, I'm going on record and saying "I want a ship Master Chief!!" Beer

Question:
What do you want in 09'?

Choices:
Sea and Salt baby!
Sand between my toes!
No bonus and a better job offer, I'm gonna bounce!
Time to rest the old bones and retire.
Not sure, i think maybe.....Uhhh, dang....I wanna.....Argh!!!!

Jekel....Northland was my #1 pick and i got it. I also put down every other ship that was open on the East coast also.....So i gave the detailer a complete understanding of wanting to go to sea.

no clue on the numbers. Just put down Cutters, lots of cutters, and don't be on the bottom of a list of marks.

As MC can verify by my last ADC. I WANT A CUTTER. Gonna shoot for the Munro up in Kodiak as number 1, then work my way south from there and then over the the other coast. I do have an in going to the Munro this year though. He says that he will push one of the OS1s overboard so that I can get back up there. Angel/Devil There might be one or two land billets on my list but the will be all the way at the bottom.

Have a nice day all.

Josh

And if anyone gets one that DOESN'T Farking need one and I don't get a cutter, let me know. I am sure something can be worked out. Cool

You just make me laugh! You have the two E-resumes that I use as great examples! You got one that I talk to people all the time about as an example of 'get the hell off my phone and stop whining' that got you to your current unit. THEN, you learned and have one that actually does show you want ANY cutter! Too bad you didn't do it the other way around! Big Grin

As long as I can make you laugh MC my day is complete. Plus, when I don't get U/W next year I can call and complain and have the legit reason for it. Of course I will still be told to pack sand but hey, at least I will have tried. Big Grin

Next year that land unit you got at #55 on the ADC and the ship at #56 will both be open.

I would have loved to been a fly on the wall in Senior's Office after he and I discussed your e-resume that got you there. I'll bet he had a few choice words for ya.....

I am an OS1 currently on land with seatime already. I intend to be putting in for D7 shore units. In the case i can not get one (which i find to be a very reasonable request) i will be getting out.

When I put the Anchor on, it had a 270 attached to it: got a great ship. Funny that years ago, co-workers would get a call from the detailer with "Here's the city, pick your cutter." Cool

Let's look at that. According to your profile, you are a priority 5. D7 is fairly highly desirable. Think carefully before you go with a "D7 or bust" outlook.

I like calls like that. It's happened before and I hope it happens again. Next time i'm up for transfer, I hope I get a call asking what ship I want in Seattle. I've always wanted to get on one of the polars or the Healy.

As with my previous post, I had a 210 right out of RM school. Close to 3 years sea time. When I hit my 20 year mark and put the Anchor on, got another ship. It was good for my career. One thing about your statement is that you said you'd be getting out if you don't get D7. There are some good places to go throughout the CG. Outside jobs are not the best nor guaranteed.
