What day does SAROPS not crash? can't even do a simple printout and its done for. The program i wouldnt think is the problem, its the servers that it sits on. Over worked and under powered.

In my Humblest opinion SAROPS was put out to the fleet WAY to early in production. It seems to be more of a Beta version. Crashes all the time, freezes up, give RIDICULOUS drift solutions, can't save and transport files without "tricking" it, Districts think it is "easier" to rass in and make my comp quit because they can't figure out how to open a file etc etc etc.

Could be worse, you could be at a River group using C2PC and not getting a POC or POS...

Allow me to answer for the young lad as he is obviously being baited to be sucker punched by the MC. "SARDO" is an antiquated term used to describe a SAR Controller as a SAR Duty Officer, and as MC has said many times, SAR Controllers no longer exist in the CG. The persons filling these seats are now called OU's. I now pose the question why in the hell is SAR CONTROLLER a required OS1 Competency? Why is it not called OU? That being the case where is the SU competency and CU competency? Okay, so I posed 3 questions, sorry.

LOL, I just think it's funny we're all called UNIT. I mean really, SAR Controller had a nice ring to it, but now when people ask what you do, you say... I am just a unit.

My two cents!!

Excellent point! Here is the answer:

1 OS0001 will be changed in name to CU, the comp will carry over.

2 OS0005 (SAR Controller) will likely be deleted and removed from all billets.

3 Two new OS specific comp will be created, one for OU and one for SU. If anyone wonders why CU can be done with a name change and OU needs a whole new one, I would suggest maybe asking someone who has been stationed at a Sector. Hopefully, they can explain it. Just as OS0005 REQUIRES that you have OS0001, I expect that both the one I make for SU and OU will also require CU. If you don't understand why, I suggest googling two words together. The first word means 'the hours between sunrise and local meridian passage' and the second word means 'the accumaltion of H2O normally found on plant life when the two bulb readings of a sling psycrometer are nearly equal'. Wink

4 There will also likely be an additional one that signifies the accumilation of all of these as a CC Supervisor.
