I posted this topic in the Reservist forum, but thought I'd get the OS side of the two cents. I'm active at the moment, probably leaving to go back home once my enlistment is up. I was looking into staying in via reserve, and stumbled across my state (New York) Naval Militia web site. I'd never heard of a state Naval Militia, but It says that it's open to all active reservists in the USN, USMC and CG It also said they have divsions, one of which being comms. In New York it is the naval version of the National Guard or State Guard. I read that other states have it as well. Anyway my question is, does anyone know anything about state Naval militias and if so anything about OS type work in the milita? Thanks.

Looks like the answer is no. You should post this in the Navy section if you're really curious. It would be interesting to find out.
