As I look at the lists, it appears that the majority of them have been cleared, leaving only a handful.

I'm sadly on the list of remaining names on the OS2 list. I'm wanting to know if I should schedule to take the November SWE or just sit tight. Everyone I've talked to, including my Chief have told me that the list "should" clear by later this fall.

Any opinions/ideas/recommendations?

My Opinion: You will probably make it off of the May SWE

My Recommendation: Study for the NOV SWE, and while you are studying you should brush up on your knowledge of the enlisted advancement process.

Good luck

YES, YES, YES, YES...
until you are above a cutoff, you should always take the SWE. It's only an hour or two of your time. Better an hour than 6 months Eek

I agree. study, study, study. it can't hurt to stay sharp in our craft. it'll only help out by keeping you ready for SWE, questions from your Chief or questions from others for that matter. There are just too many OS1s out there that could learn more before making it. plus, if you don't make this cut, then the next one may be the one you write the #1 test with preparations you make now.
it couldn't hurt...

How many E7's for December? I'm thinking between 7-10.

I just took the Nov SWE for OS1 and hopefully did great....This is my first SWE taken in my 13 years..can anyone tell me how soon and where we can find out the score of the test. I was told not to really worry about it. But I studied hard anyway, for an earlier advancement....curious as to when the 70 something list will be cleared and when we know what ranking you are on the new list Anyone know?

If you look back to post on here from last year, it was about 2 weeks after the SWE that raw scores were in DA.
I also took the OS1 SWE. Wonder how many others did as well..?

I also took the OS1 test. Like it was said before, expect to see your raw score in DA in a few weeks(don't be disheartened by this number, usually the average is about 75/150). Maybe mid Dec for your profile letter and a little after that for the list. On a side note, was anyone else surprised by what seemed to be to be the large amount of security related questions and the lack of SAR and LE questions?

Ok so I was just told from another 1st...that in DA about a week or two for raw score...so I am happy with that.....also thank you for the two people above...you guys dont seem to be a-holes about this....like I said I have been in a long time and stayed a 2nd for a long time and this is my 1st time taking the SWE....on the SWE post...people slammed me for not knowing when I should get my score...like high school

Also I was a prior TC so I actually thought there were a good amount of security vs SAR questions and LE questions...but I guess it depends if you are part of the OS world or legacy...I was at the SAR/LE disadvantage

Yeah, no worries.
I'm not sure about a lot of security questions, I did however think there were a lot of EKMS questions. I was shocked not to see too many SAR or LE ones though.
I have to admit there were a few questions that I just had to scratch my head to. Wink

Just out of curiosity, what type of security questions are we talking about?

Nothing....I wasn't trolling for answers! I was just curious because the RFMC has mentioned on many occasions that security is for the most part a collateral duty, not an OS duty....so why have questions on a collateral duty?

To clarify on the "Security" part, it wasn't so much physical security as it was COMSEC ie. EKMS questions. Which kinda sucks actually because I knew all the measurements for the fences/clear zones/signs/vegetation, ect. Basically I felt this test emphasized subjects very differently than the last SWE I took (OS2 May08). And I'm still waiting for the SWE that has an Electronic Warfare section on it Big Grin

Yeah I agree with you completely.
Oh and you’re waiting for EW items on the SWE, while I’m waiting for TSO (Flying OS) questions. Wink
