Your access to class info is no longer valid the second you depart a unit - no matter where you go. Your Eligibilty to have access may or may not be good. If you were recalled to AD for some reason, while stil in the IRR, before you were eligible for discharge, it would most likely still be good. Almost anything else, you would most likely be required to submit an SF-86 to update the info for any other organization.
That doesn't mean it isn't marketable. Basically, to the company/agency you try to get a job with, they are able to spend a lot less money and time doing a full, complete back ground check. In other words, the investigation still stands good. The clearance itself, as MC said, has been suspended. As we all know even after you clearance is done, you are still responsible for safe guarding the knowledge you have obtained.
Also keep care of YOURSELF and investigate the companies asking if you've had a clearance because you never know their true intentions until you research.
From my personal experience: My clearance was good when I left the CG. I departed on a Friday and started my new job the following Monday. Of course I already had my job lined up and they had already done the paperwork for me to walk through the door of my new agency. I did have to wait 2 weeks for my S** to be redone (that's my new agencies policy) there was no lag time for my S/TS part. I marketed myself and it took all of a week to have several job offers. With my experience and my clearance, it was a 35,000+ pay raise from the CG! Oh life is good, and I love it!!! I miss the people I worked with (some of them), but do not miss the BS involved with being there! Hello civilian world, goodbye uniforms, short haircuts, and no facial hair!!!!
You got any pointers or useful info to share. Would like to pick your brain on some stuff, but couldn't contact you on here. With any rate, would like to hear more about how you did and what you did. For the love of God! Do it for me! Do it for my future beard!
