I'm trying to find out any information about the 2773rd Engineers Battalion, my Grandfather served in it during WWII from 1943-1945, it was disbanded shortly after the war and their is nothing online about them. Does anobody know anything about this Unit?

Hello, My father Ed Shatsky was in the 2773rd. He has a book called Brisbanila Odyssey 1943-1945. What is your grandfather's name? Maybe they knew each other.
Cheers,
bruce

Wow! After 2 years I had lost all hope of hearing about anyone from his Unit. My Grandfathers name was James Patrick Foster, he too has a copy of that same book. I have found out a bit more info in the past few years. Tell me about your Father and his time during the war, is he still living?

Dear Sir,

I am sorry I did not see your post regarding my father and your grandfather and the 2773rd Engineers Battalion. My dad is Ed Shatsky, and he is still living. He worked in the printing shop of the 2773rd, mostly working with or approving maps. The 2773rd did mostly that kind of work. He was first stationed in Brisbane at the Eagle Farm camp and when he came to visit me in Brisbane back in 97, he was amazed at the memories it brought back to him. I will ask him about your Grandfather and see if he knew him, or remembers. My name is Bruce. My dad is in California, not really healthy due to declining lungs, the result of smoking all those years ago. I am currently overseas, but try to get back in January. Email direct at brucegshapiro@gmail.com
Cheers,
bruce
