Okay all you North bashers. Let's hear all your cockamamie flashes on how WE started this one, and the videos are CIA funded boguses, and it's all about oil, or money. Or the Republicans staged this for political gain. Or ALL the above? These are Iranian thugs trying to bully the Fleet in International waters and provoke an incident. I admire the cooler heads of the Navy, but a 10-second buzz from a Phalanx would have made me chuckle. Reminds me of a mouse crawling up an elephants *** with intentions to rape.
You would appear to think North bashers are anti-Republican or somehow not patriots. You are woefully mistaken. This North basher is just anti criminal and against a fine pro military site giving any support or lending a forum to a man with no honor, good ol' Ollie.
Seems to be a case of "Much Ado About Nothing". Experienced Navy posters on this forum have indicated that this type of incident is a routine occurrence in the Straits of Hormuz. Perhaps this "threat" was exaggerated and embellished by the US propaganda machine to coincide with the POTUS's trip to the Middle East so that he could demonstrate to the world the "belligerence" of Iran. I wonder what would be the reaction of the US Navy if Iranian warships (or those of other enemies of the US, which seem to increase daily) were to appear in international waters off the eastern coast of the United States? No doubt a show of force would be dispatched to monitor and/or challenge the potential intruders. The US seems to position itself in the Straits of Hormuz as provocateurs, reminiscent of the USS Turner Joy and Maddox in the Gulf of Tonkin.
Why doesn't Nutty start to answer the press like this:
"Well when I flew into Iran with some TOW weapons and a cake, why them Eye-Rainians were just a bunch of slap happy joy riding sailors..."
Should we actually believe Herr Nutty that the caliber of the press is such that they allegedly sought Nutty's opinion---must have been part of Cheney's propaganda initiative--since the attempt to spark a conflict much like the "Gulf of Tonkin" has imploded--that Cheney, he's sneaky and wants to nail Iran so bad, that he probably spends propaganda bucks on the likes of Nutty North. What actually happened was one of Nutty's staffers who actually helps write this "column" asked himself what his context deprived thoughts were on this which explains the caliber of the content.
I say throw Nutty in a Herc and send him to Teheran again, maybe this time we might have something more important to negotiate for than making money to fund all kinds of things like a security fence for Nutty, arm right wing death squadsm etc, etc
Hmmmm.... do you think this whole Hormuz hoopla has anything to do with Bush's recent announcement of arms sales to Saudi Arabia? "The sale is a key element in the U.S. strategy to bolster the defenses of its Arab allies in Saudi Arabia and other oil-producing majority Sunni Muslim Gulf nations against threats from Shiite Iran."
In an effort to end the "interview," I answered, "Those who believe the Iranian version of any incident are people who hate America or those who believe that every event is part of some grand conspiracy theory. Which one are you?"
Hey Ollie, they *might* be Americans that realize that the CiC, VP, and a number of other members of the administration are pathologically dishonest (I know - I've seen the videos of them contradicting themselves over and over again... For that matter, I watched you lie to congress about selling arms to our enemies - ironically - the very same Iranians you're shooting you mouth off about in this very article!), that started a war based on information they KNEW was bogus! This doesn't count the outing of an active CIA operative by the leaker-in-chief (who's own daddy, the former director of the CIA, referring to anyone what outed a CIA operative as: "the most insidious form of traitor...").
So Ollie - you can leave the self-righteous indignation behind. Those of us that aren't children know better.
And wish we didn't (or rather, that none of it never happened).
