I had made a post In the army forumns but decided after no response that I would post pics here as it seemed fitting.

My grandfather served over 20 years in the service WWII and korea he was enlisted in WWII and eventually became an officer during his career.

I am hoping with these photos one day It will lead me to find out more than I already know about him but if not I hope you enjoy the history as much as I and my military family did.

My grandfather served his country well during his time and told me many stories and I have seen many pics from WWII that are nothing like these pics.

What I am hoping to find out is some of the people in these pics for one people that may have served under him or been there near that time most of these pics were from around 1955.

Worst case scenario I shared some of my families history for all to see what it may have been like back then hope you all enjoyed as much as I and my family did and still do.

My grandfather started out as a private in WWII his name was Joseph Hanskett he married my grandmother in germany thats where my mother and uncles were born from her side or at least some of them they had a big family.

All of his sons would go on to serve the military during vietnam so would all my uncles and my father I respected them all and I have had many great uncles etc that done the same.

I was half way thru my tour and never knew anyone in my family was a Marine until my great uncle sent me his steal eagle globe and anchors and to this day and am very proud of what our family has done and hope that my sons and maybe daughters will carry the tradition on and if not accept it for all my family has fought for.

I am hoping to find new info one day but due to time that has passed by I can accept that what we have done is good enough.

I hope it was something that gave you light on my family and hope to one day show the WWII stuff when I locate it but I seen that stuff and am sure my grandfather wanted that buried far far away for it was something in their day was very revolting but yet they were proud to be apart of something that stomped out that kinda thinking in this world.

I have always respected every branch of service and I due to my time era have gave every branch their grief Big Grin but in the end I would be proud and defend any brother that was doing the same.
