F-yeah! I posted something worthy of a temporary position at the top of the forum!

I guess my grandfather was taken to the hospital today with massive intestinal bleeding. Further, his dementia has taken a sudden turn for the worse recently. He is unaware of his surroundings and happenings on a minute to minute basis. It is quite sad. He's a WWII Navy vet, former F-4U Corsair mechanic. Up to two or so years ago, he was an extremely competent man who could solve any problem (especially mechanical ones); now he is barely cognizant of anything.
Bummer Christmas. We'll find out tomorrow about his medical needs.
Thanks for your kindness. I saw him tonight after he was released from the hospital. With the transfusions, he looked pretty good, if not a little shakey. No matter what, he still has his great sense of humor!
Sounds like my Step-Dad. He took care of my mom for years with her strokes and medical problems. She got better, then he started going down hill. No one to take care of anymore, so he started making his exit. He had his sense of humor all the way up to the end. That was a year ago when he passed.
He always told me that he believes in Re-incarnation...When he dies he wants to come back as a lesbian!
He was a recipient of the Silver Star in WWII. Don't know what it was for, but sure would like find out.
B, there might be a web site our there for Silver Stars. I know there is on for CMH's and Navy Cross's that have the actual verbaige of the award...search for cmh's and follow the links...Siver Star's are not just given out and are tracked..
