* Knocks, removes cover, enters.*
I hate to intrude like this, but I have a question for my greener brethren. I just found out that my Ex's brother is at Parris Island, and graduating next month. I'm still on relatively good terms with their family and was intending on sending a card/gift for his graduation, but I'm not exactly sure what. I'm sure his family will shower him with personal gifts, and I wanted to send him something that was both professional and personal at the same time. Can anyone offer a Sailor some sound advice? |

That's Mr. HollywoodMarine to you. |
There are a few items that can be useful when he hits the Fleet. You can either get him a watch w/ face cover, or a small Leatherman utility tool.

The watch is a good idea, also, check the Commandant of the Marine Corps' reading list. It has a list of recommended books for young Marines to read.

Nah... good idea for the barracks, but a waist of space when out in the field, and moving from barracks to barracks.
I hardly used my K-Bar. Leathermen's and Gerber's were more practical in the field. They were small enough to carry on your belt, and had tools to tighten up equipment, open MRE's and ammo crates.
Uh... hope you toss in a box of condoms then he's "golden"! |
