I am originally from Charleston, SC.
I was at PISC for boot camp then Camp Giggles for 3531 school. (does anyone remember SSGT Paschal what a trip he was) In July 1987 I got orders back to PISC as a PVT to work in the motorpool. (driving cattle cars) In the summer of 1988 the motorpool went to a civilian contractor and all the Marines either got orders elsewhere or sent to different units around PISC. I was sent to PCP/MRP as the police LCPL. (basically in charge of recruit working parties) Then in Jan 1989 I got orders to MCAS Beaufort as a dispatcher for the motorpool. I loved that job. Made CPL in April 1990 and then honorably discharged in Oct 1991. I went in open contract and never left the Carolinas. In Jan 1992 I enlisted in the Coast Guard (as an E-3) and had to go back to boot camp. Just retired in Sep 2007 as a Chief. I wouldn't change a thing. I currently live in Upper Michigan.
