This came up on another board. A long time ago when the LAV was still shiny and new, most of our VC and SNCO's were conscripts from tanks and AAV's. And you most definitely didnt use the A word. Was just kind of curious if the old tradition stuck around after all these years.
....I remember when it was called LAI....regular grunts took it to mean "Light in the *** Infantry"....since it was a "heavy" mech asset (compared to HMMWV/jeeps), I guess the Armor stuck like a tomato on the wall at Jack in the Box...
Due to my tanker husband, I still can't eat them and we've been out since 1992. I won't take the chance to eat them behind his back either, because the curse is so prevalent in his mind.

Yep, we had guys from amtracks and tanks, bad juju. It was a no-no in 3rd LAV's in the mid 80's, and was just kinda curious if it still is in the current LAR Bn's.
