Good morning all:

My name is Frank Pearsall. I served from 1958 to 1978, retiring as a Master Sergeant. Had some "interesting" tours including I-I duty in Richmond, Virginia and Lima, Ohio. Was in Vietnam 1967-1968. Was in the MADCOP program 1972-74 in Pensacola, Fla. (try finding out information about that deal!!!) Finished up at Quantico (77-78) as the Basic School admin chief.

Currently, I'm serving as the Transylvania County, N.C. Veterans Service Officer. Came out of retirement to take the job. As far as I can tell, I'm the county's second oldest employee at age 67. I love what I do and my wife says she's never seen me happier! No age discrimination in this county...

I'm active in the MCL (Hendersonville, N.C.) and our Brevard VFW.

My personal crudsade is against "posers" and "wannabes" in general and on these forums. (I'm always looking to see what the latest is on Larry Google.) I'm real careful about any of my own "sea stories" I tell to not blow 'em up too much. You know, "I cut myself with a paper clip and bled all over the commanding officer..." when in reality I didn't really cut myself, I just thought I did, I wasn't even near any paper clips, ad naseum...

I have a nephew that retired from the Marine Corps last summer (LtCol, helipcopter pilot, former sergeant of Marines). It was fun hear his complaints about some of the same $$%^#& stuff we *****ed about in the 1960s...

Semper fi

Joined our beloved Corps on June 26th 1981 and retired July 31st, 2006. First 4 years served as an 0311 with 1/4 out of 29 Stumps. Forced to lateral move in 1984 to the 2800 field where I spent the next 21 years working on all kinds of comm gear. Retired as a Master Sergeant.

I now have a great paying job as a Facilities Supervisor for a private biotechnology company in Rockville, Maryland.

Have three sons - all Marines - and a daughter who is studying to be a pharmacist.

Sgt Shaw (1986-1992),
6 years active "Chairborne" as my grunt friends like to say. 4 years with MC Engineer School, MCB at Lejeune and the last two with the Comm School at 29 Stumps.

I've primarily worked in administration since leaving the Corps ranks, but I had a 5 year stint as a School Bus Driver. Loved driving bus. Now working for an company specializing in Environmental, Engineering, Construction and Remediation.

Spent a couple short stints with my company in 2005 down in LA helping with Katrina/Rita.

I feel like a usurper, having not requested permission to board properly. I did give a brief history before my first post, so I will at least have a "yeah but" when you start dragging the violators into the street for public executions. Served from 93-97. First with MarDet Sasebo, then with Echo 2/5 wpns plt.
