I've been in 2 years now. I'm a 1341 H.E. Mechanic with 4th CEB and just returned home from Iraq a month ago. I spent the first half of my deployment running around with the 71's (combat engineers) mostly doing security operations for the engineers building sh*t ie TCP's, FOB's, I.P. stations, O.P.'s and base fortifications. It seems the combat engineer element has taken a drastic change and is pretty much in the ESB role now ..at least in our A.O. Anyways ..Not really looking forward to going back but hey ..that's why we join right? Semper Fi.

Joined in 2001 right before 9/11. Two deployments with 1/6 then got out in 2005. Right now I am in the Life Insurance business, but will hopefully start a new career with the Sheriffs in a month. Reside in Concord, NC, have a son who is about to turn one June 10th and will be married for two years this July.

Just found this site a few days ago while looking for old buddies. Parris Island Oct67 thru Jan68 Platoon 1078, after ITR at Geiger on to Millington to learn to be a jet mech. Finished in top of class so got choice of duty stations and picked Cherry Point. Assigned to VMFAT-210 (F-4 training squadron)and was there from Aug68 til Jan71. with 10 months left got orders to Nam,after staging at Pendleton on to Okinawa, once in Okinawa orders got changed to Iwakuni, Marines were being pulled out of Nam. Sorties were flown from Iwakuni so we repaired the birds that came back shot up. Nine months in Iwakuni and enlistment was up. Asa they say a Million dollar experience that you wouldnt pay a dime to do over. Not really,I hated living it then but now realize they were some of the best years of my life, would love to re-contact some of those I met,but 40 years past make it very difficult.
