Another freaking toy in my toy box.
I have stored about 60 TV episodes, about 200 songs, and I've used only about half the memory. Total capacity is 16Gig. Click Image for Larger View The videos, photos, web pages and emails are crystal clear, unlike the photos shown here. And you can zoom into and pan any area, merely by touching and moving your finger on the screen. It has direct link to YouTube videos, so I can post videos online and have just the video visible on the phone, without any of the other crap and ads, just as if it were stored on my phone. Great for personal videos, without taking up room on the phone. Oh! It makes phone calls too. PS: If you needa mod quickly, you can email me at and it comes to my phone.PPS: I can turn this off at anytime. This email is an autoforwarder and has beaucoup spam filtering to make it wise-guy proof. |

One does not preclude the other... or rather, "geek crap" is not "mutually exclusive to the outdoors". |

Update: This is so cool.
I've been working on my spam filtering from my main computer all day, so that I can leave it on and have "some" emails forwarded to my phone. It's working great. I just sold some vintage computer tapes, from my iPhone in the U.S., to someone in the Netherlands, using an iTouch with Wi-Fi, and never had to go to my computer. Very cool! |

I have one of those too, they're awesome. Should come in handy in Iraq and whatever downtime comes with that.

Yes they are. But one of my beefs with these is that the applications are a bit lacking and the ones they have are under-performers. Like email... no folders other than inbox, sent mail and trash (for POP email). That's a 10 year step backwards in time, in terms of technology. The browser needs some major improvements to be ready for the 21st century. It's an underperformer as well (no Java support). The good news is that apple has just released a development system for the iPhone. I've signed up as a developer and may write some of my own applications for it. Might have to buy a friggin Mac, though, as I think the dev system only runs on the Mac. |
