This came up on the SB, several claimed no one ever did MMF in boot camp.
Several others, myself included distinctly remember it during the week in the field.

Any one else remember it that way, or did our DI's lie to use?

We did that in 1994, platoon 2032. We all raced to the top just to beat platoon 2038. My SDI hated 2038's SDI for some reasons.

I don't even know what it is.... Confused

A veteran - whether active duty, retired, National Guard or Reserve - is someone who, at one point in his or her life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America" for an amount of "up to and including my life." That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand that - Author unknown.

You are correct. We did Mount Mother****ker at MCT, not bootcamp.

I went through PI, but all the guys I went to school that went through Cali and hollywood Marines in the fleet spoke of it enough that I knew what it was within my first 6 months in the Corps. They all did it in boot.

We did it in 1983.

As JD said going up was easy. We did it at night, so you had no clue how big it was.

We set up camp just over the top of it, then went back down it the next morning.

Going down MMF was a *****, especially the dudes that went f'ing bowling. MoFo would fall and roll down and take out the 10 guys in front of him.

Oh the memories.

We did the same thing. I'll never forget that meal of C-Rats on the top of that fuger. Next morning Guy's falling all over themselves when they tripped.

It was the only peaceful night of sleep in 13 weeks. Our DI's were spent also.

Was there in 83. We ran up it, took about a 15 minute break, and then went running back down.

I saw several who went bowling... everyone with a full pack, deuce gear, and rifle...

We did that in the afternoon, then camped overnight at the base of it. Our whole series was there. All of the DIs were calling it Mount Mother F*cker. I've met people since then who say, nah, you weren't there, but it doesn't make any sense to me that they would lie to the whole series about that.

Was it also known as Old Smokey. We did it in ITR in 67. It was in Pendelton somewhere. Never did it in boot camp.

We went up in the morning and came down after dark. Serious clusterfark coming down.

Wierd how your series did it differently than ours.

how did the week at ITR in boot camp work? Well all boot camp traing that week run by the DI's ot the staff at ITR, and would the staff at ITR run boot comapnies different each time? i would think the traing schedule would be the same from company to company with very little deviance.

Like I said we went up late at nigh, bivouacked and then came back down during the day the next morning.
