"Bowlers have BIG balls!"

A bartender is sitting behind the bar on a typical day, when the door bursts open and in come four exuberant Marines. They come to the bar and order five bottles of beer and ten glasses. They take their order over and sit down at a large table. The caps are popped, the glasses are filled and they begin toasting and chanting, "51 days, 51 days, 51 days!" Soon three more Marines arrive, take up their drinks and the chanting grows, "51 days, 51 days, 51 days!" Two more Marines show up and soon their voices are are joined in raising the roof, "51 days, 51 days, 51 days!" Finally the tenth Marine comes in with a picture under his arm, he walks over to the table, and sets the picture in the middle and the table erupts.

Up jump the others, they begin dancing around the table, exchanging high-fives, all the while chanting, "51 days, 51 days, 51 days!" The bartender can't contain his curiosity any longer, so he walks over to the table. There in the center is a beautifully framed child's puzzle of the cookie monster. When the frenzy dies down a little bit the bartender asks one of the Marines, "Whats all the chanting and celebration about?"

The Marine who brought in the picture pipes in, "Everyone thinks that Marines are dumb and they make fun of us. So, we decided to set the record straight. Ten of us got together, bought this puzzle and put it together. The side of the box said 2-4 years, but we put it together in 51 days."

Brooks,

Have you heard any word on the 0351 MOS being phased out. I know that bonuses are being offered for every MOS, but 51s.

Does anyone know anything about this?

I had heard that they were phasing 52s out, but not 51s.

The last word I got was TOW's (52's) going away, and those Marines merging with the 51's. That would also result in a TO saturation, and therefore no bonuses.

If I can get my CO to approve my orders and I go back to my unit, I want to cross deck to the Crunchies. I'm tired of being attached out as a redheaded step child.

They actually sent you guy's out to the lines??
our Bn tried that...we pretty much ended up as grunts with heavy optics.
They pulled us back to WPNS Co, and put us in the Mobile Strike Teams.

We trained as a 4th plt of crunchies, but we got to the sand and they attached out the WPNS PLT. This cause a problem when my squad lost its squad leader. I was the next one in line and we had been going out with me a APL, but was told that only 11s could lead the squad. They put a boot Cpl over us, I was a Cpl too at the time so no real big deal. However they moved some 31s to us and one was a Sgt. They told him that only 11s could lead the squad, so we had a Cpl. over a Sgt. I still don't know how they came up with that math.....

Sounds like a Plt Sgt who wants to make sure his unit gets as much credit as possible. I hate that shiat.

Of course all this should have been a moot point, because the Sgt Squad leader we lost was an 01! I found that out just before we came home. Thats right WPNS guys can't lead the squad, but an 01 can?!?!? Guess what that 01 Sgt was GTG!

Yeah, the other Plts didn't run that way. They had 31s leading squads when they lost their squad leaders.

Of course they could have thought I was just to much of a sheite bird to take their squad! AS for the SGT 31, he only stayed with us for a few weeks, before he was pulled to support the Plt somewhere else.

He had been JOTing as an 11 with the reserves. His whole squad didn't know. Hell he had SOI stories to complete the scam. He is in law school now! Big Grin

I will stay this about him. He knew his sheite, but would listen to his Cpls.

TO DO LIST:
hijack thread......check.

Way back when I was SF we used to field train up in Stuttgart. One time we had a couple of extra slots on the roster and took a couple of S-1 bubbas and a cook. S-1 *****ed about bad coffee and the cold. The cook; turns out he was Rambo in a funny white hat. That M--F-- was f-ing GREAT in the field.
I guess no all the pouges are useless, eh?
