I finally got tired of looking at the tiny numbers on my cell phone to see what time it is. Eyes ain't what they used to be, for closeup.
So I sprung for a new watch. It's amazing how much lighter titanium is than stainless. Not sure which is the "big hand" and which is the "little hand". Click for larger image So what's everyone else wearing? |

Artillery brings dignity to what would otherwise be just a brawl. |
I am very hard on watches. When I was in the Corps, my wife bought me a new Timex Triathlon every Christmas. Now I have a digital "Coleman" you know the camping gear people, that I got at Bass Pro Shops. Have had it for a couple of years now.

I bought an expensive watch once and proceeded to lose it some damn place. Couple hundred dollars vanished into thin air. Bought 20 dollar timex ones ever since

Think my typing is bad? You should see my penmanship. |
When I served I went thru many till I got to Recon and at the time Citizen and Pulsar made dive watches thats cost around 200 bucks and they were the only watches that I recall that never got any moisture under then lenses etc.
And I still have that watch today so either ips You picked a good one and if not talk to guys that do lotsa water ops and with todays events sand ops and they will tell ya. |

One of the fun parts of my real world job, survey crew chief, is chopping offensive vegetation with a machete. For best effect I prefer a two-handed grip that has launched a bunch of watches into the tulies, never to be seen again. I just open up my cell phone, the numbers are bigger inside.

I found a few watches in the field, of course they were cheap and beat up. Funny thing is, wind up watches, they stopped and battery watches drained down fast. My electric aura was in full effect when I was younger. Now, I have a few watches, no cell phone. |

Maybe someday I'll live where there are wires for a real phone. I've been cell phoning ever since the farmers hereabout took down the fences and planted trees. Last year I was working where there wasn't any cell coverage and couldn't remember how to work a pay phone.
If I had a real phone I could dump the ******omatic mark 4. |

Actually, that's the exact reason I decided to buy a watch. I had been using my cell phone and that got very tiresome. But that required
This particular watch

I just keep the phone in my pants pocket, having learned about shirt pockets by drowning several. No case, unlocked.
Watch does sound cool with solar charging, I have a drawer full of dead batteried watches and ancient self-winders of historical value. Then again, anymore I mostly don't care what time it is anyhow. |
