Thanks for the invite MArine...If you were in the first gulf war as your profile states, then you would have known how to spell SEABEES...WE BUILT your camps, We let you eat in our galley because your mess tent food sucked...We had your six while you went out and kicked ***...you should remember unless you were one of those floating MArines...We SEABEES are very proud of our short history and what WE CAN DO!

you know...I dont usually respond to posts like this.....but onthis on I have to

While deployed during the first Gulf war....in SA...we ate in a chowhall on Camp 15.....that place was constructed long before any Americans showed up because the Arabs have 'worker' camps all over the place.

When we moved forward......and prior to the shooting.....we had hot chow trucked out in vats......

when we moved forward from there...it was MRE's from there on out.....all the way into Kuwait....and for the remaining time we were there...until....we moved back into SA......and back into the original chow hall....

Now....Im well aware of your history.....but please......no bragging in this forum unless it is truly....and I mean truly....impressive....

See you all at the safety meeting by the table saw....

Mike.....

I enjoyed 96's when I was on AD...and realize now how much I took those for granted...

G-man.....If you think the cases were impressive ( as well you should)...you should see the line of coffee tables im putting out....

Ive got a truck load of oak planks that they use for floors on the 48 foot trailers...they come in 8 foot planks....1 foot wide....toungue and grooved.....it takes a little sanding....but once i get the top layer off.....the possibilities are endless.....

Not everyone can be a Marine. Likewise....not everyone is cut out to be a Pilot, a Corpsman, Seabee etc. Everyone has a role. But for those of us who chose to be one of the Few.... Beer

Sounds like it's time to buy a bigger planer.
A few years ago I was restoring the deck on a double-deck carousel, and initially thought using a porter-cable belt sander would be good enough.
1 day of sanding and not much progress,I said F
this and went got a 10"planer and went to town.

Next time a truck driver delivers me some damaged eq.,I think I'll just start ripping out his floor of the trailer...cuz that sounds like a good use for the wood.
