From my experience only, I am not for sure on this. I don't believe there is any specific MOS for fitness trainers, there are Master Fitness Trainers in the Army but it's a training that you get as a, Army Special Qualifications Identifier. Depending on the needs of the army. To get the SQI of P5 Master Fitness Trainer you must :
1. Description of positions. There are no positions identified for Master Fitness Trainers. 2. Qualifications. Must successfully complete the (four weeks Active Army or two weeks Reserve Component) Master Fitness Trainer Course, conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Army Physical Fitness School, Ft Benning, GA. 3. Restrictions. For identification of personnel only. Used with any MOS. Don't quote me on this, I am sure there will be plenty more info from much more qualified individuals on this forum. Joshua |

Athletic trainers are not in demand, but Physical Therapists mostg certainly are! Since both involve Sports Medicine, you may want to investigate going this route. Alternately, you could join a Combat Arms branch such as infantry, and pout your skills to work when you get your own team to train. Good luck! |

hey guys, its been a while since this topic was discussed, but i didnt think i was necessary to start a new topic.
anyways, i was doing some research on the Medical Service corps, and was wondering how it works. as a certifies ATC, i think that would qualify me for that branch, as i would have a bachelors degree in a medical field. but after that, i have no idea how the MSC branch works... like, how are you selected to do a certain job and such? if anyone is an officer in the MSC, or is a recruiter and knows about this branch that would be great. and its not like im just interested in doing athletic training. im very interested in the medical field as a whole, and would be happy doing things other than athletic training-related stuff... im basically just wondering if a bachelors in athletic training qualifies me to get into the MSC. thanks guys! |
