AAV crewmen

Circa 1997 when I left AAV's we carried M16 A2's.

I bet it is still the same....the AAV even has a slot to hold the M16 in right next to the drivers left leg.

I don't know about others in the crew but my son, a mechanic/crewman is issued a M16 with the 203 grenade launcher. He has not been deployed yet so I don't know if he would be issued something different when and if he is deployed.

He has yet to even fire a sidearm with the Marine Corps with two years in. I get him to the range when he is home to practice with my Glock .40 just so he can get some experience.
