I don't know if anyone is interested in cheap accomodations for a week at exclusive resorts all over the world, but if you have the time and can plan in advance this is a site for military members and their families. RCI and other timeshare offerings are donated to this site for exclusive use by military members and their families. You don't have to attend sales seminars since you are treated as an owner when you arrive.
The reservations can even be made for friends as long as you are the one making the reservations as a military member. My family and I have used this site and it beats getting locked into a timeshare committment that costs you the maintenance fees each year even after paying off the cost of the timeshare. The following link is worth the visit.
During the holidays I was trying to get a cheap flight from Los Angeles to Washington DC. Most flights were over $500. A friend turned me onto a "super" discount service where I actually found a nonstop USAIR flight for less than $200. The website I went to was worldventures.com/sag. They saved me a bundle, and I'm gonna go on one of their discount cruises too, since that's something else I discovered they do!
Look for places on Hotel St, like the Clarion, Holiday Inn, Ramada, normally they have deals on that are reasonable and it is still close to everything. If you want really good discounts then go to Denny's and pick up a coupon book for hotels, you can get some great deals that way.
There is 2 Lodges, one at 32nd St and the other one is on North Island. The one on NI is really nice, right on the beach and reasonable.
I read your blog... but the link you gave doesn't work... i see that there was no www so i tried adding that but it put me to some mebership website is that where you went? please email me directly if you would with the info my email is flamestop at msn dot com ( i wrote it out so that hopefully it is not deleted
thanks
