Guys, My wife bought a plane ticket for me through TRAVELOCITY.COM when I was visiting a Marine I used to be stationed with. Without reading the size 2 font, I was auto-enrolled in a company called "Great Fun", which never sends mail, emails, or phonecalls (but does exist to extract money from you). I caught this in my finances a month ago (2 years and 24 payments later). The company takes $9.99 a month out of your account, so it is easy to miss in the everyday hussle and bussle. I finally caught this after I had $240 taken from me. When I wrote an official letter, and called them out for ripping off veterans, they refunded me $30. They also explained it was against their policy to refund more than $30, despite taking $240 for no services rendered.
So check your accounts and advise your junior Marines, soldiers, sailors, or airman to make sure that if they are using TRAVELOCITY or ORBITZ, they are not having money withdrawn without their knowledge. The deduction shows up on bank statements as TLG*GREATFN. I know it's messed up that there are companies profiting off our heroes overseas, but it is happening. So it might be worth looking into to ensure you are not getting ripped off also.
Expedia did the same thing, except they sugar coated it by combining it with a $100 e-voucher off your next ticket. Check you CC statements! The sharks are looking for chum.
