Several years ago my first husband was killed in Iraq. We have a 5 year old daughter. The last time she saw him she was only two years old. I have remarried and my current husband is the only father that my daughter has ever know.
My husband and I are talking about him adopting her but I have a financial question. Do I need to termitate her SBP and DIC benefits if he adopts her? I cannot find any information about adoption and survivers benefits. |

I am not sure, but contact a VSO at one of the National Veterans Organizations and they should have the answer. I think the answer is yes, but you need an expert to give you the advice.
I have linked this to the area that our other veterans experts then to be active, and maybe they will chime in on this one. |
