Syria in 'furious' frenzy to get Russian missiles
Security official: 'It's like a return to the Cold War'

JERUSALEM – Syria, aided by Russia and Iran, in recent months has been furiously acquiring rockets and missiles, including projectiles capable of hitting the entire state of Israel, according to Jordanian and Israeli security officials speaking to WND.

A Jordanian security official said one of the main reasons Damascus did not retaliate after Israel carried out its Sept. 6 airstrike inside Syria allegedly targeting a nascent nuclear facility was because Syria's rocket infrastructure was not yet complete.

The official said after the Israeli airstrike, Syria picked up the pace of acquiring rockets and missiles, largely from Russia with Iranian backing, with the goal of completing its missile and rocket arsenal by the end of the year. The Jordanian official said Syria is aiming to possess enough projectiles to fire over 100 rockets into Israel per hour for a sustained period of time.

"The Syrians have three main goals," explained the Jordanian official. "To maximize their antitank, antiaircraft and ballistic missile and rocket capabilities."

According to Israeli and Jordanian officials, Syria recently quietly struck a deal with Russia that allows Moscow to station submarines and warboats off Syrian ports. In exchange, Russia is supplying Syria with weaponry at lower costs, with some of the missiles and rockets being financed by Iran.

"The Iranians opened an extended credit line with Russia for Syria with the purpose of arming Syria," said one Jordanian security official.

"Russia's involvement and strategic positioning is almost like a return to its Cold War stance," the official said.

Both the Israeli and Jordanian officials told WND large quantities of Syrian rockets and missiles are being stockpiled at Latakia, Syria's main port on the Mediterranean Sea, as well as at Syria's Tartus port, another major port area south of Latakia and north of Damascus.

Syria's new acquisitions include Russia's S-300 surface-to-air missile defense shield, which is similar to the U.S.-funded, Israeli engineered Arrow antimissile system currently deployed in Israel. The S-300 system is being run not by Syria but by Russian naval technicians who work from Syria's ports, security officials said.

New ballistic missiles and rockets include Alexander rockets and a massive quantity of various Scud surface-to-surface missiles, including Scud B and D Scud missiles.

Israeli security officials noted Syria recently test-fired two Scud-D surface-to-surface missiles, which have a range of about 250 miles, covering most Israeli territory. The officials said the Syrian missile test was coordinated with Iran and is believed to have been successful. It is not known what type of warhead the missiles had.

In addition to longer range Scuds, Syria is in possession of shorter range missiles such as 220 millimeter and 305 millimeter rockets, some of which have been passed on to Hezbollah.

Israel has information Syria recently acquired and deployed Chinese-made C-802 missiles, which were successfully used against the Israeli navy during Israel's war against the Lebanese Hezbollah militia this past July and August. The missiles were passed to Syria by Iran, Israeli security officials told WND.

Russia recently sold to Syria advanced anti-tank missiles similar to the projectiles that devastated Israeli tanks during the last Lebanon war, causing the highest number of Israeli troop casualties during the 34 days of military confrontations. Syria and Russia are negotiating the sale of advanced anti-aircraft missiles.

Seemingly confirming the information, Mossad Chief Meir Dagan told the Knesset yesterday Syria's military recently has accelerated its acquisition of arms. He did not list specific new weapons or disclose information about Russia's involvement.

“The military alliance between Damascus and Teheran has accelerated the arms race in the region,” said Dagan at a meeting of the Knesset's Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee.

Dagan stated Syria's moves do not necessarily indicate the country is likely to strike at Israel.


Iran is not halting their nuclear ambition plan at all. Recent intel report on TV showed a new facility that has yet to be inspected by IAEA/UN. Iran will do what it can to initiate hostilities between Israel and Syria/Hizbollah to keep Israel/U.S. off balance while it continues to pursue it's nuclear weapons program. With Putin aiding them advanced weaponary and manning them with Russian military, he's trying to provide a 'human shield' against any Israeli offensive to take out any missle threats to Israel. Sidebar: what I find humerous is that in the end, the Muslims are going to use that Russian technology against them in the next twenty years. Afghanistan/Chechnya and a few others I can't recall, but Islamo-Fascist will make sure Russians remember when Moscow goes up in a nuclear cloud. The Islamic Caliphate will pick off it's enemies one at time, U.S., Israel, Western Europe, then Russia, then China. Then no one else will be able to stand in their way of their Global objective.

Ecuador Follows Chavez in Deploying Troops to Colombia Border

CARACAS, Venezuela —

President Hugo Chavez ordered tanks and thousands of troops on Sunday to the border with Colombia, accusing it of pushing South America to the brink of war by killing a top rebel leader on Ecuadorean soil.

Denouncing Colombia's slaying of the rebel commander in a cross-border raid into Ecuador, Chavez said Venezuela will respond militarily if Colombia violates its border. He ordered Venezuela's embassy in Bogota closed.

Ecuador's president, Rafael Correa, also ordered troops to the Colombian border, withdrew his government's ambassador from Bogota and ordered Colombia's top diplomat expelled.

"There is no justification," Correa said Sunday night, snubbing an earlier announcement from Colombia that it would apologize for the incursion by its military.

Chavez called the killing of rebel leader and spokesman Raul Reyes and 16 other rebels on Saturday an attack by a "terrorist state."

"Mr. Defense Minister, move 10 battalions to the border with Colombia for me, immediately — tank battalions. Deploy the air force," Chavez said during his weekly TV and radio program. "We don't want war, but we aren't going to permit the U.S. empire, which is the master (of Colombia) ... to come divide us."

Correa said Colombia deliberately carried out the strike beyond its borders. He said the rebels were "bombed and massacred as they slept, using precision technology."

The Ecuadorean leader said Colombia violated Ecuador's airspace when it bombed the rebel camp, which the Colombian military said was located 1.1 miles from the border.

Colombian officials have long complained that Ecuador's military does not control its sparsely populated border, allowing rebels to take refuge.

The same holds true for Venezuela, where rebel deserters say the guerrillas routinely rest, train, obtain medical care and smuggle drugs. Chavez denies that his country provides refuge to the FARC.

In a statement, Colombia said FARC "terrorists" including Reyes "have had the custom of killing in Colombia and taking refuge in the territory of neighboring countries."

Colombia's police commander Gen. Oscar Naranjo said documents from a computer seized where Reyes was killed suggested Ecuador's president is deepening relations with the FARC.

The two documents, copies of which were obtained independently by The Associated Press, were apparently written by Reyes in the past two months and addressed to the high command of the FARC. An Ecuadorean government spokesman called the Colombian claims a lie.

Ecuadorean soldiers recovered the semi-nude bodies of 15 rebels in their jungle camp, the corpses scattered around the site along with pieces of clothing, shoes, a refrigerator, guns and grenades.

Soldiers stood guard at the camp, saying they also found three wounded women, who were evacuated by helicopter to be treated. One was a Mexican philosophy student injured by shrapnel, while the other two were Colombians, said Ecuador's defense minister, Welington Sandoval.

Ecuadorean officials found that there were two bomb attacks on the camp early Saturday, Lt. Col. Jose Nunez told reporters in the remote village of Angostura, where the bodies were found.

Colombian commandos removed the cadavers of Reyes and one other rebel.

Chavez called the raid "cowardly murder, all of it coldly calculated."

"This could be the start of a war in South America," Chavez said. He warned Uribe: "If it occurs to you to do this in Venezuela, President Uribe, I'll send some Sukhois" — Russian warplanes recently bought by Venezuela.

The situation tested already tense relations between Venezuela and Colombia, though cross-border trade has not yet been seriously affected.

Chavez did not specify how many troops was sending to the border. A Venezuelan battalion traditionally has roughly 600 soldiers.

"Undoubtedly the recent actions on the part of Colombia and Venezuela's response raise the risk for armed conflict," said Miguel Tinker Salas, a Latin American studies professor at Pomona College in Claremont, California. "Although it is unlikely we will see military confrontations, what is clear is that Colombia has been pursuing a military solution to its own internal problem, ... drawing in Ecuador and Venezuela."

Chavez has increasingly revealed his sympathies for the FARC, and in January asked that it be struck from lists of terrorist groups internationally.

The leftist FARC has been fighting Colombia's government for more than four decades, and funds itself largely through the cocaine trade and kidnaps for ransom and political ends.

Chavez said that with U.S. support, Colombian troops "invaded Ecuador, flagrantly violating Ecuador's sovereignty."

U.S Embassy spokeswoman Suzanne Hall, in Bogota, declined comment on the possibility of U.S. involvement, saying it was a Colombian government operation.

In Texas, U.S. National Security Council spokesman Gordon Johndroe said of Chavez's latest moves: "This is an odd reaction by Venezuela to Colombia's efforts against the FARC, a terrorist organization that continues to hold Colombians, Americans and others hostage."

How exactly Reyes was killed was not immediately clear.

Colombia's defense minister, Juan Manuel Santos, said Colombian commandos, tracking Reyes through an informant, first bombed a camp on the Colombian side of the Ecuadorean border. He said the troops came under fire from across the border in Ecuador and encountered Reyes' body when they overran that camp.

Colombia and Venezuela have been locked in a diplomatic crisis since Uribe sought in November to halt Chavez's efforts to mediate a prisoner swap. The FARC has since freed six hostages to delegates of Chavez, including four released last week.

The FARC has demanded that a safe zone be created in Colombia to negotiate a swap of some 40 high-value captives, including former presidential candidate Ingrid Betancourt and three U.S. defense contractors, for hundreds of imprisoned guerrillas.

Thinking about it, this has been a no-brainer. Chavez is the classic school yard bully. He has to use brute strength, fear, and intimidation in order to get his way. He has to 'buy' friends, i.e. giving the poor people money, new facilities (without utilities), AK47's..... But the World has seen how he has raped Venezuela of all forms of freedom and free enterprise. One of Chavez's priorities since getting into office is building up a military by going on a spending spree. He's betting on the military to protect his personal empire and not Venezuela. He's been overt in garnering other socialist in the region..birds of a feather....to be his 'buddies'. He shows of in public whenever he can, being very blusterous in his manners, words, and actions. So to start a war in South America has not been hard for anyone to imagine. He's a bully that is going to take Venezuela, Ecuador, and maybe a large portion of South American straight into a decade of violence as he pulls his imitation of Benito Mussolini...whom is a very fair comparison if you look at the two of them.

JERUSALEM – Israel will "destroy" Iran if Tehran decided to launch a war against the Jewish state, Israeli Infrastructure Minister Benjamin Ben-Eliezer said today.

The unusually harsh warning from Ben-Eliezer, a former defense minister, was delivered as the official visited his ministry's war room, which took part today in a massive, nationwide, weeklong drill that is set to include simulated chemical missile attacks on central Israel.

"The Iranians won't rush to attack Israel, because they understand the significance such action would have and are well aware of our strength," Ben-Eliezer told reporters. "However, Iran continues to aggravate the situation by supplying arms to Syria and Hezbollah, and we must deal with this."

The minister said this week's war drill "is not a meaningless spectacle or a fictional scenario. The future reality is likely to be a number of times harsher than that which we recognize now. We are confronted with a situation where the home front becomes the front line."

"In a future war, it will be much safer to live in (the northern towns of) Nahariya and Shlomi instead of Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, since I expect that in the opening attack hundreds of missiles will strike Israel," Eliezer said. "There will be no place in the country which is not within range of Syria and Hezbollah's rockets."

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad says Iran has tested new advanced centrifuges, a breakthrough in a uranium enrichment program that the U.N. has demanded the country halt.

The hardline president says a "new machine was put to test" that is smaller but five times more efficient than the P-1 centrifuges already in use.

Ahmadinejad's comments Tuesday at a ceremony marking the second anniversary of Iran's first enrichment of uranium reflect his continued defiance of U.S. and U.N. demands that the country stop the process, which produce reactor fuel or material for a nuclear warhead.

With our Presidential politics tying any kind of united National foreign policy and strategy, Iran knows this is now the time for them to act. When I say Iran, I mean Ahmadinejad, the IRG, and the hardline Ayatollahs of the Iranian government. Pity the Iranian people underneath their boot and the consequences of allowing such a regime to exist, kind of like Germany circa 1938.

But the war in Lebannon is seen as a victory by the anti-Isreal coalitions and offers a better chance of victory in their minds.
So, I"ve stated anywhere from now to November...not the greatest Vegas odds. One thing is certain, no one is showing signs of backing down, especially the new Jihadist Axis crowd. Termoil amongst themselves too may prompt action by them as well as a way of building a 'unifying' force. Iran and Syria are minimizing Al Qaeda for control of the region, that too must be considered and Iran may even offer some of their 'major' heads on a platter as a peace offering/strategy of making us look the other way while they continue to build their nukes.

It really wouldn't be hard for some raghead to have a nuke missle on a cargo ship and fire it once it comes in range.Even possible to bring in a nuke part by part across the Mexican border and hide it in one of our larger cities

My guess is that the US Navy is tracking every ship of Iranian and suspect origin. If a nuke gets launched from a mobile ICBM launcher in the hold of a ship it's likely to be tracked with maximum efforts to shoot it down. The Iranians have probably been put on notice that if it happens their entire navy will be on the bottom. I'm certain that our military planners are watching this like hawks even though nothing gets talked about publicly.

Russia and Georgia....I missed that big time. Of course, I don't get the 'Daily Brief' that the Pres gets. But hindsight, one can see where they were suckered into a fight by Russia and from what (of all sources) Kim Kommando said today, that Georgia's internet and computers had been under cyber attack for almost a month before land fighting began. So I hope the Pentagon and all the Alphabet Intel agencies and think tanks take note of that!! Plus us Arm Chair Generals....who watch from the sidelines.

Future Scenerio: Early Morning, 3:30am, U.S. Border patrol Bronco with two agents see lights in the distant. Using a set of mediocre night vision devices 'bought' by the USBP, they see a line of vehicles, pick up trucks, SUV's and three HUMVEE's. The Agent's are well aware of their location just north of the US/Mexican border and that this line of vehicles have crossed from Mexico into the United States. They call and notify their local office ten miles away, requesting assistance. They are told not to impede the line of vehicles. As they sit and wait and see, the line of vehicles get closer to the Agent's Bronco. At at distance of about a hundred yards, the HUMVEE's suddenly bolt foward ahead of the line of vehicles, bearing directly at the Bronco with the two agents. Suddenly the stop, flood lights hit light up the Bronco....the Agents step out and stand at the side of their Bronco.....the bright lights blinding their vision. They are unable to see the FN MINIMI machine guns mounted on the HUMVEE's turning towards them...then ripping them and their Bronco into shreads.
USBP Agents in a nearing vehicle thought they heard gunfire, then saw the light of a fire light up the night at about two miles away. They instantly called in what they saw and heard. Within twenty minutes, all available on duty agents and local State Police raced into the vacinity. As they all began gathering around the burning hulk Bronco and now covered bodies of the two dead agents, the group of now 17 USBP, State Police, and local County Sheriff Deputies, didn't notice the line of vehicles that had pulled off to extreme right behind small mounds. Their own vehicle and radio noise masked the forward movement of 3 HUMVEE's and a group of men who lined up now 75 yards away in the cactus, trees, and scrub brush. They opened fire and the majoritiy of US Law Enforcement officers fell instantly, a few got some pistol shots off before the advancing party moving in precise military ambush techniques, finished off the rest.
The multi-million dollar cocaine shipment was going to get to the shipment point this morning no matter what. The line of vehicles reversed course and drove until they reached the local highway and began their drive to their destination.
Jackson Farmer's Market needed their load of fresh produce that morning. The two semi's running east met the line of vehicles from 'Mexico'. The first trucker made no notice, other than it was such a line of vehicles so early, the second trucker, a former Army soldier that drove HUMVEE's in Iraq, made recognition of 'a professional military', along with civilian vehicles.
He knew better than to get on the CB radio when his front driver asked him what that line of vehicles was about, other than to sound non-chalant and disinterested. He got out his cell phone and called the local Highway Patrol.
The ensuing investigation revealed that elements of the local Mexican Police along with Los Zetas were responsible for the attack. Further investigations revealed from SigNet Intel out of Fort Huachuca, radio contact between Los Zetas and a Mexican General had been intercepted and
a group of Mexican Special Forces were dispatched after the first USBP officers had been gunned down to assist the Drug convoy.
Mexican Nationalism had risen greatly in the past two years during the Obama Presidency as all border fencing had been stopped immediately after Obama took office. There were even talks of the Obama Administration making New Mexico, Arizona, and the southern half of California, it's own Pan Mexican Country with open borders for both Americans and Mexicans. Mexico had moved several of it's battalions to the border soon after that news had made the media in the US, under the precept of 'protecting' Mexican Nationals living in occupied areas of the United States.
The US Military had been seriously depleted following the first year of the Obama Presidency as 'universal health care' took the majority of Defense Department funding with the Democratic controlled House and Senate passing legislation moving those funds.

Iranian Mullah's decry US involvement alongside of the 'puppet' Filipino Government and pressure the Muslim dominated government of Indonesia to assist their 'muslim' brothers in the Philippines.
March 7th, 2009, a large task force of 25 Indonesian Naval vessels assemble and sail for the Island of Mindanao. United States satelites track the progress of the task force as it nears the Philippines, notifying the Filipino Ambassador and Philippine Military. On March 9th, the Indonesian task force entered the Moro Gulf, encountering a small force of 12 ships of the Philippine Navy. Without hesitation, the Indonesian ships open fire at a distance of three miles with ship launch missles. As the battle ensues, a mixed bag air fleet of Indonesian Air Force jets fly into the fry quickly launching strikes on all Philippine ships, sinking 5, disabling the rest. The Indonesian task force sails around the striken Philippine fleet. Within hours, landing craft are disembarking Indonesian Marines and Soldiers in the port city of General Santos, as Indonesian Air Force assets land aircraft with troops in Davao. The Government of Indoneasia announce they are liberating the island of Mindanao and recognizing the Islamic Republic of Mindanao.

1. Israel and/or the U.S. attack Iran’s nuke sites.
2. The terror groups in Lebanon, Syria, and Gaza attack Israel and drag Syria into the conflict. This is Iran’s plan along, and will attack Israel by proxy using the groups they have armed.
3. After Israel conventionally annihilates these forces, Iranian agents in these terror groups launch missile salvos with chemical and biologics at Israel’s population areas, killing thousands. Israel holds Syria responsible and nukes Damascus.
4. Iran leads the Arab world in condemning Israel’s action. Russia’s agreements with Iran and Syria (“hook in jaw”), drags their forces into the region (Iran).
5. American forces in the region are ****ting their pants. They are caught in the crossfire.
6. Libya, Ethiopia, and Iran join Russia in an all out attack upon Israel.
7. Israel, conventionally overwhelmed, launches her nukes on all the Arab countries and forces, in the region including Russia’s.
8. Russian defense systems launch her weapons, most aimed at the U.S.
9. Depending on who is President at the time, U.S. birds are already in the air.
10. ¼ of the world’s population will die in this battle.
11. As following WWI and WWII, a new attempt at world government will be initiated.

You dont need to really come up with any new scenarios for a future war. All future wars have already been recorded in history--we just tend to do them over and over again. This financial meltdown may be the catalyst for the next civil war or world war. Stay tuned for the next chapter in our history...
