Seems unlikely. More likely a tripart alliance between the US, Israel and India fighting moslem terrorism, which all three have been victims to.

Depends a bit how Pakistann behaves. If they don´t the US could give India free hands. But if so china maybe comes to pakistan aid.

Maybe our friend has been reading bout how bad the Mexicans supposedly want all of the territory they lost in the Mexican War back. Unfortunately for them, the Boy Scouts could kick the Mexican Army's ***.

I thought I was replying in the "Who will we fight next" thread.....

My thoughts on Mexico where this...

They are everywhere. I live in Fort Worth wich is 30% Hispanic. Most mexicans are dying to get into this country. Dallas is over run. Whites are the minorities. How hard would it be for Mexico to invade. They already pretty much have. Kinda of a Red Dawn scenario. It's just something I think about from time to time. I am not prejudice but no empire ever lasts. That includes the USA. God how I love this country. But it is changing before my very eyes.

Indian MoD Details 2003 Milestones

(Source: India Press Information Bureau; issued Feb. 6, 2004)

--Restructuring:
For the first time since Independence, a comprehensive review of the National Security System was carried out. As a result of this review, many important decisions and measures were taken. This resulted in the establishment of Chief of Integrated Defence Staff, Defence Procurement Board, Defence Intelligence Agency, Andaman & Nicobar Command, Strategic Forces Command, and Integration of three Service Headquarters with the Ministry of Defence. The National Security Council was constituted and Defence Minister’s Committee was revived after more than twenty years. The Defence Ministry has also delegated its various financial powers to Army, Navy and Air Force, in areas such as construction, purchase, repair and maintenance and information technology.

--New Acquisition and Modernization: During the last four years, the spending on Defence has broken all the records. The Government gave adequate importance for spending more money on the crucial aspects of national security. While the total expenditure on Defence in 1997-98 was Rs 35,277 crore, it now stands at Rs 65,300 crore for 2003-2004. The last four years have seen systematic induction of many new and much needed weapon systems. As a percentage of GDP, defense expenditure had steadily declined from 2.88 in 1990-91 to 2.17 in 1996-97. Whereas, during the last three years, it has gone up and is now about 2.7 per cent.

--The Government has decided to acquire 66 British Hawk Advanced Jet Trainers (AJT) for the Indian Air Force. Out of these 66 AJTs, 24 will be procured from M/s British Aerospace Systems of UK in flyaway condition. The remaining 42 AJTs will be produced in India by M/s Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd, which will manufacture the aircraft under Transfer of Technology (ToT)/license from the parent company. The delivery of the aircraft will commence after 35 months from signing of the contract with the British Firm and all the 66 AJTs are expected to be available to the Indian Air Force before the next six years.

--A contract was signed with Russia for the supply and indigenous manufacturing of advanced multi-role aircraft Sukhoi 30 MKI. The first squadron of the aircraft has already been inducted and is fully operational. Twelve more Sukhoi – 30 MK1 were inducted in IAF during the year 2003. The induction of Su-30 MKI is being done in a phased manner. The total cost for supply of 40 Su-30 MKI aircraft is USD 1,462 million. In addition, 10 Su-30 K aircraft, acquired in 1999, would also be upgraded to Su-30 MKI standards. The induction and upgradation is expected to be completed by 2004. One hundred forty Su-30 MKI aircraft would also be manufactured by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited under Transfer of Technology arrangement upto 2017. IL-78 air-to-air refueler aircraft were inducted in IAF. These are the first such aircraft to be inducted in IAF. Besides this Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) were also inducted in the Air Force.

--A major contract was signed with Russia for the procurement of 310 T-90 tanks to strengthen Indian Army. Under the contract 124 tanks will be imported in fully formed condition and 186 tanks in Completely Knocked Down (CKD)/Semi knocked Down (SKD) condition, along with Transfer of Technology for indigenous manufacture in India.

--A Memorandum of Principles and Order of Cooperation has been signed with Russia and Israel regarding the procurement of Airborne Warning and Control Systems (AWACS). This Memorandum envisages the delivery of the aircraft, complete in all respects, to the Indian Air Force by the prime vendor.

--The Government has approved a long-term approach for series production of submarines in the country in order to meet the Naval requirements. This would help in acquisition of national competence in submarine building.

--Self Reliance in Research & Development: Indigenization has been at the core of the defense planning process under this Government. Several steps have been taken to make the country self-reliant in defense needs.

--Agni-II, with a range of 2,000 km, has been successfully developed and is being inducted. The development of Agni-I, a single stage solid propelled missile having a range of 800 km is complete and it has been accepted for induction. The range fills the gap between Prithvi and Intermediate Range Ballistic Missile. This missile can be launched from rail/road mobile launchers. The supersonic cruise missile Brahmos, which is a joint venture between India and Russia underwent several successful flight trials. The ship-borne version of Brahmos has been cleared for induction by the Navy. Production facilities have also been geared up in both the countries to meet the production orders. ‘Dhanush’, the Naval version of Prithvi surface-to-surface missile was successfully launched. The telemetry and tracking network have established that the technology demonstration met its entire mission objectives. The Navy will soon operationalize the system. The development of conventional warheads of 1,000 kg and 500 kg for the Prithvi Missile has been completed. Advanced version of the missile PII was tested.

--The Defence Research and Development Organisation successfully developed Nuclear, Biological and Chemical Protection Gear and Sarvatra bridging systems. Both these items have entered the production phase.

--Tejas, the light combat aircraft (LCA) Technology Demonstrator I & II, have successfully completed several test flights. In the year 2003, the aircraft crossed the sound barrier. Digital-fly-by-wire control system of the production versions has been successfully tested. Kaveri, the indigenously developed engine for LCA, has completed ground testing in India and high altitude testing in Russia. Development trials of the modified versions of the engine with better structural integrity, surge margin, improved combustion pressure loss and reduced weight, have also been successful.

--The development of Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) got a major thrust when the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited indigenously developed the ALH. The first lot of seven ALH has been delivered to the Armed Forces. ALH is designed to cater to the diverse operational requirements of the armed forces.

--The multi-barrel rocket system Pinaka, is ready for induction after successful user trials by the Army. Pinaka has the capability of firing in a single salvo, 12 rockets in less than 40 seconds, with a range of 38 km. The anti-tank missile Nag has successfully completed user trials and is ready for induction.

--The Pilotless Target Aircraft ‘Lakshya’ was inducted into the Navy and Air Force. Phase 1 and Phase 2 deliveries to the army have also been completed. With this the country has reached self-reliance in this class of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles.

--The system development of Nishant, an unmanned aerial vehicle for aerial surveillance and reconnaissance, is complete. After four successful flights of the system incorporating user suggested modifications, maintainability evaluation of the system has been completed. Limited series production is likely to commence shortly.

--The quick reaction Air Defence missile Akas has undergone several consecutive successful flight trials in guide mode.

--The INS ‘Prabal’, an indigenously built missile vessel, has been commissioned. The ship is equipped with a 76 mm combined surface and anti-aircraft gun as well as surface missiles.

--Delhi class destroyer INS Mumbai was commissioned into Indian Navy. Two Krivak class stealth frigate from Russia and two fast attack crafts were also inducted in the Navy. Keel for first indigenously manufactured stealth frigate INS Shivalik was laid.

--The country’s first indigenously designed and developed aircraft carrier, known as air defense ship, is being built at Cochin Shipyard Ltd at an estimated cost of Rs 1,700 crore. This would take about seven years.

--The 160 km long Tamu-Kalewa-Kaylemyo road on the Indo Myanmar border, constructed by the Border Roads Organisation, was inaugurated. This marked the beginning of a new era of cooperation and friendship between the two countries.

--Electronic Warfare Systems Sangrah and Tempest have been inducted into Navy and the Air Force. The Defence Research and Development Organisation has successfully developed FIN Stabilized Armour Piercing Discarding Sabot (FSAPDS) Softcore ammunition for use on T-72 Tanks.

--Initiatives: The Indo-US Defence Policy Group (DPG) met from time to time to continue talks on specific areas of Defence Cooperation. Both sides reviewed the defense cooperation and established the linkage between the two countries from military standpoint. The DPG also explored the prospects of sharing defense technology. As a follow up of these meetings, several joint exercises between the forces of the two countries have been conducted. The Executive Steering Group of the three Services of the two countries have met to plan and review military to military cooperation and oversee implementation of the visits, exercises and training programs. The training program will include training for combined humanitarian airlift, combined special operations training, small unit ground/air exercises and naval personnel exchange and familiarization and combined training exercises between US Marines and the corresponding Indian Forces.

--As a measure to introduce transparency in defense deals, Defence Minister asked the Central Vigilance Commission to investigate into all major defense purchases since 1989 and the CVC’s report has since been submitted.

--The Defence Industry sector is now open for private sector participation upto 100 per cent equity, with Foreign Direct Investment component being permissible upto 26 per cent subject to licensing. This was considered necessary in order to achieve self-reliance in defense production sector. The private sector has demonstrated its capabilities in various defense related fields and hence their technical and managerial resources will be harnessed. Opening of this sector to private participation is expected to reduce existing dependence on defense related imports by the infusion of capital and technology.

--The Government has decided to lift the ban on employment of agents in defense purchases. A Regulatory mechanism, which would govern the conditions of employment and operations of such agents, will be formulated soon.

--INS ‘Kursura’, a foxtrot class submarine was decommissioned and inaugurated as a museum in Vishakahapatnam. The Submarine Museum is the first of its kind in Asia and is expected to give a boost to the tourism industry.

--For the first time in the country, a war memorial museum will be set up in memory of our martyrs. The museum will be set up in Delhi. A decision has also been taken to establish National Defence University.

--The Naval Academy being set up at Ezhimala in Kerala is planned to be commissioned by December, 2004. The training for the first batch will commence in July, 2005.

--The Government has taken a major decision of conducting National Defence Academy, Naval Academy and Combined Defence Services Examinations in Hindi also besides English. For the first time in country’s history voting facility for Armed Forces Personnel through proxy was accorded.

India Ready to Test 3,000-km Missile

(Source: Press Trust of India; issued June 19, 2004)

NEW DELHI --- India will conduct tests of its most powerful missile Agni III capable of striking upto a distance of 3,000 kms "when required", Defence Minister Pranab Mukherjee said today amidst indications that the DRDO had completed preparations for the trials.

"We will conduct the tests as and when required" he said when asked when the country would go ahead with the trials already put off twice since late last year.

The test firing of the solid state missile assumes significance in the backdrop of Pakistan going ahead with test firing of number of short and medium range Hatf and Ghauri missiles. Agni III was to be test fired in November last year and was put off to be carried out early this year.

Without giving any time frame for the test firing, the Defence Minister told newsmen on the sidelines of a function organised to fete Navy's successful Everest expedition team "you will get to know when we carry out the tests".

This is how:

By being the first Muslim country to have an Atom bomb and making its proclivities about the Bomb clear by naming it with its religion - The Islamic Bomb.

By proving itself to be the proliferator of Nuclear capability to other Muslim countries.

By being the country to give asylum to Al Qaeda's Osama Bin Laden - America's enemy number one.

Pakistan has been working against the interests of the USA since the end of the Cold war. Apart from building up the now deposed Taliban regime, it has provided Al Qaeda with its recruits from the thousands of Jihad preaching madaresahs in Pakistan.

With 9/11, this game was called off with the American ultimatum to Musharraf. With a reversal of policy, started Pakistan's double game of making a show of supporting the US War on Terror while trying to undermine it through proliferating nuclear capability to the enemies of the USA like Iran, North Korea and Libya. Its offer of nuclear technology to Saddam's Iraq is documented in the evidence found in Baghdad by American forces. With the option of supporting the Taliban and Al Qaeda openly, being shut down by the US ultimatum to Musharraf, the Pakistani regime started off with the other option of proliferating nuclear capability to America's enemies.

Whatever Musharraf may say today, it is a fact that the Jihadi movement developed further under him. The Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) was founded when he was in power. The JeM was founded openly at Karachi by Masood Azhar who was released in exchange for the passengers the Indian airliner hijacked to Kandahar by the Al Qaeda in December 2000. It was during Musharraf's regime that the Jihadis openly started collecting funds at Pakistani Petrol Pumps and other public places. The American ultimatum after 9/11 closed all this and so had to be replaced by something more sinister - nuclear proliferation was this sinister Pakistani option. Where the Musharraf regime erred was that it wanted to keep helping the Jihadis secretly while making show of supporting the USA. It was this show of support to the USA, that brought the ire of the Jihadis upon Musharraf and led to the failed assassination attempts on him. But while the world is swayed by these sensational assassination attempts on him, we would tend to overlook the more sinister and infinitely more dangerous role of the Pakistani regime of nuclear proliferation. All the protestations of 400% guarantees on part of Musharraf against Pakistani nuclear proliferation are a sham and if we believe him, we shall be bringing peril on ourselves.

Nailing Musharraf's Nuclear Lies about Abdul Qadeer Khan

Mr. Musharraf you say "If the USA had shared with me Abdul Qadeer Khan's activities in advance, I could have taken action and many things that happened, would not have happened." And on the other hand you also say "I was suspecting Khan for the last three years." So which of these statements is true? That you knew that Khan was up to something suspicious, or that since the USA did not tell you anything, you knew nothing of Khan's activities?

And if you were already suspecting Khan for three years, how come you did not get on to Khan's activities as we Americans did? And why did you not try to stop Khan? Now Mr. Musharraf, at least after the USA has shared with you all of Khan's doings, what have you done about that? You have pardoned Khan, allowed him to keep his ill-gotten wealth, said that he is a National Hero. Is this what you would have done had the USA shared with you info on Khan, in advance?

Come clean Mr. Musharraf. Only after Khan threatened to reveal everything that you browbeat him to make a public confession, absolving you and others. And you have the cheek to say that the USA should have taken you into confidence, you an accomplice to nuclear proliferation! Mind you Mr. Musharraf, the USA knows your role in this and we are not nailing you and your country immediately, since we need to maintain the status quo, till our Presidential elections are through. Since we do not want a messy Pakistani campaign (in addition to the Iraqi campaign)on our hands in the few months between us and the elections

Once the elections are through, the USA will come back to you giving you another ultimatum like the one Colin Powell gave you on the 12th of September 2001, "Are you with us or with the Terrorists". And you chickened out. You also have chickened out with the Indians on Kashmir, No longer do you call the Kashmir Jihadis as "freedom fighters". You have a record of chickening before American pressure, after trying to pull wool over our eyes. This time we Americans will ask you "Are you giving up Pakistan’s nuclear assets to us as South Africa and Kazakstan did, or are you not?" We will not even ask you "Are you opening up your nuclear facilities for inspection", as we (through the IAEA) have asked Iran and Libya. Since we know that Pakistan not only has nukes but successive Pakistani governments have proliferated nuclear capability to states like Iran and North Korea who are wanting to destroy our country. The Libyan dictator chickened up on seeing Saddam’s coming out of the spider-hole and he spilled the beans on Pakistan.

We have been keeping tabs on KRL (Khan Research Labs) since many years, so we know the extent of Pakistani involvement in the proliferation game. And in this game. Khan is only a mask, the real face is that of the Pakistani ruler, which happens to be you at present (we don’t know for how long though). All of your predecessors starting from Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, Zia-ul-Haq, Nawaz Sharif and now yourself have been the secret initiators of the proliferation game. And you yourself are a past-master at this game, the way you smartly organized Kargil against India. So we trust your ability to manage such secretive games.

"Pakistan is America’s next Target." - Pervez Musharraf

You are normally on your guard about what you say. But once you had let down your guard before the American liberation of Iraq and had said that Pakistan could be the next American target. You were so prophetic, Mr. Musharraf! Yes Pakistan would be the next American target in the War on Terror, but not for now till the our Presidential elections are over. Till then you have breathing space. Try some new tricks Mr. Musharraf and see if you can save your skin before then by taking Osama Bn Laden’s advice by "transferring enough dough to Swiss banks and fleeing after handing your country to the Hindus", before we get you or before the Jihadis get you. Only till then are we going to pretend that we have bought your act of injured innocence in the game of nuclear proliferation.

We Americans know the truth and you also know we know it. Time is running out fast for you Mr. Musharraf. Only for the time being we will play along with you to say to the world that we are satisfied at your pardon to the proliferator of nuclear terrorism, and that we consider the nuclearization of the Jihad by a Pakistani to be the internal matter of Pakistan. Don’t be naïve enough to believe this Mr. Musharraf. C’mon Mr. Musharraf, we Americans don’t take the security of our Homeland that lightly!

Why is the USA soft-pedaling Pakistan's nuclear proliferations?

The US military in Iraq has found written evidence of correspondence between A.Q.Khan and Saddam Hussein's regime in which Pakistan's Khan had offered to build Iraq's nuclear capability after the first Iraq-USA conflict in 1990. But in spite of such damning evidence, the USA is soft-pedaling the issue with Pakistan. Here is the catch! The USA's soft-pedaling of Pakistan's nuclear proliferations today has more to it than meets the eye. The USA has its compulsions on Musharraf. It does not want to rock the Pakistani boat so strong that Musharraf sinks before the November 2004 Presidential elections in the USA. Saving Musharraf - a leader who feigns support to the West, while wanting to stay in power by not ruffling the Jihadis is the fulcrum of American dilemma today. The Khan revelations come as a jab on Musharraf's bottom. But the USA cannot jettison its frontline ally immediately. So the US is working through the IAEA, whose Mohammed El Baradei has said that Khan's revelations are a tip of the iceberg. Colin Powell has also asked for explanations from Musharraf. Hence the USA is working on this quietly.

But the USA's plans would have to be re-hauled if a coup overthrows Musharraf or if he is assassinated before the US Presidential elections. Then the US will then have to move in to secure Pakistani nuclear assets without further delay or launch a pre-emptive attack on Pakistani nuclear assets to destroy them, before they fall into the hands of Pakistan's Jihadi generals. If the USA falters in doing this, it would turn out to be its most fatal and costly mistake in the War on Terror.

America Wake up now, before it is too late - this is your last wake-up call!

When state and non-State actors acquiring nuclear capability from Pakistan use it against the USA one day, in an act of nuclear jihad which they have vowed to wage against it, it would be too late even for another wake-up call. Large parts of the USA would have been destroyed and millions of its citizens sent to their eternal sleep.

Can it. What if I told you my mother was an orphan of a possibly illegal immigrant family in a border state who never even spoke English until she was forced to attend school at 9? Her father (my grandfather) was often in trouble with the law, to include a weapon violation. He died of complications involving the reluctance of an American doctor to travel 30 miles to treat 'one of them' when he was injured at his less-than-minium-wage job with no benefits.

What if I then told you she was a blue-eyed blone who served in WWII as a nurse, married a career soldier (31 years - three wars) and raised 8 kids, three of which served in the military for a total of 53 years? The other 5 served in either state or federal government jobs for more than 100 years, all told?

My mother was born in a finnish community in Minnesota in 1918 and her dad died of gangrene from a sawmill accident. His 'weapons violation' was poaching and his rifle was confiscated (our only legal paper on him). For that matter, the only paper from the "old country" we have from my Irish paternal grandfather was a poaching violation (Salmon out of season) as well.

In the military I served with people from Vietnam, Barbados, Cuba, Mexico, Guam, Samoa, the Phillipines, Hong Kong, Thailand, Burma and India. They were all so committed to making this country their home they were willing to put their lives on the line for it.

Bottom line: The immigrants who come to this country are here because they want their children to live here, work here, and die here. This is BETTER than where they came from and they will break their backs to keep it that way. Lay off.

India is not a problem. Thanks to 9/11, we now have Pakistan off of India's back, which means that China must play fair with India now over the water issues that they are at each other's throats over.

AEROSMITH - Taste Of India Lyrics
God I love the sweet taste of India
Lingers on the tip of my tongue
Gotta love the sweet taste of India
Blame it on the beat of the drum

God I love the sweet taste of India
Lingers on the tip of my tongue
Gotta know that what's gotten into ya
Any cat man do when it's done

Oh yeah she's got that kind of love incense
That lives in her back room
And when it mixes with the funk my friend
It turns into perfume

When you are born you're afraid of the darkness
And then you're afraid of the light
But I'm not afraid when I dance with my shadow

This time I'm gonna get it right
To think of what I'll get tonight
Just lookin' for a little taste, taste of India
She'll steal the smile right off your face

Her yin and yang
Is just the thing
She's unpredictable my friend

God I love the sweet taste of India
Lingers on the tip of my tongue
Gotta know that what's gotten into ya
Any cat man do when it's done

It's like your first taste love of vindaloo
That sets your heart on fire
And if you let her stuff get into you
It will be all that you desire

When you make love to the sweet tantric priestess
You drink in the bliss of delight
But I'm not afraid when I dance with her shadow

This time I'm gonna get it right
She's gonna whet my appetite
Just lookin' for a little taste, taste of India
She'll steal the smile right off your face

She a friend of mine
She a concubine
The sweetest wine
I gotta make her mine

God I love the sweet taste of India
Lingers on the tip of my tongue
Gotta love the sweet taste of India
Blame it on the beat of the drum

God I love the sweet taste of India
Lingers on the tip of my tongue
Gotta know that what's gotten into ya
Any cat man do when it's done

Just think of what I'll get tonight
She's gonna whet my appetite
Just lookin' for a little taste, taste of India
She'll steal the smile right off your face

Indian Navy Looking to Orion Alternative

by Pulkit Singh
Apr. 25, 2005

The Indian Navy is now focused on buying Falcon 900 maritime-patrol aircraft (MPA) from Dassault Aviation of France, as over two years of negotiations over the acquisition of P-3 Orions from the US have not borne fruit.

The Indian government has been negotiating the purchase of eight used US Navy P-3Bs Orions, which would be upgraded to the C model prior to delivery to India. However, an Indian Navy official said, with only three Il-38 maritime-surveillance aircraft (two crashed in October 2002) and the service's aging Il-142 surveillance aircraft long overdue for upgrades, the Indian Navy is now focused on buying the Falcon 900 MPA, offered by Dassault just last month. He also said that the Falcon 900 MPA is much cheaper than the P-3 Orion, with the price of a new Falcon MPA being the equivalent of the second-hand P-3 Orion aircraft, the purchase of which India has been negotiating under the US Foreign Military Sales program. The official added, though, that the Indian Navy would still procure additional maritime-reconnaissance aircraft, should a deal for the Falcon 900s be reached.
