What is the chance of us having another World War?

I see how everything Is going and I can feel that we are about to have another World War sometime In the Furture but, I don't know when and I would like to a estimate date because I am Actor and Martial Artist and I would like to have a estimate time on how long I have to get this stuff done before I get Drafted Into the Military.

With growing international dependency of nation on nation, the odds are very likely most wars if limited, will take on the scope of a world conflict.

It’s inevitable. Sooner or latter, hopefully latter!

The stage is set and the count down has begun. The question is not when it will happen but who will through the first stone? The next chain of events will be out of our control, but we will be to blame.

I'm with Azure, in that with modern instant communications venues (like this one!) and the increasing interdependency of nations (EU, NAFTA, Greater Asia), that true world wars are a thing of the past. And I really don't see us going back to a draft any time soon - not when we can increase our numbers much more easily. (Allow more prior service veterans to reenter service, establish additional, non-monetary benefits for vets, allow foreigners to enlist without first requiring them to obtain Permanent Resident status, etc.). So go on with your bad self, work on your custom style of american karate, and good luck with the acting career.

The chances of us haveing a WWIII are very likely. Does history not repeat itself?

Life goes on. The world is already in conflict, and probably will see ups and downs.
We all wait for the Millienium(sic)...
As to a draft,, I don't foresee one soon. The draft was instituted when the US was in DIRE straits, and needed lots of folks to defend.
Your question, begs the current state of affairs, however. The US is ENGAGED in a new type of warfare, new at least to the current media and elitist.
Look to the News behind the News, for advice on the US and the Global conflicts. Your talents can be used if you volunteer.

I feel Swimmer. I too see the world coming to a global conflict but like Digital said who will be the first to stone ? In the times before us we see our conflict with terrorist ,that in my oppinion will no matter what go no where, we also see outher conflicts that bring us closer to our WW3 such as the taking of the British soldiers. Even though this conflic was resolved we still only get half truths. How close are we really to WW3?? We only know what we see and hear but even then we only hear half truths. We can only watch the world drop head first into the inevitable WW3.

the question should be World War 4. Which is right around the corner (15-50 years).

IMO, WW3 is just a name for a full global conflict. It doesn't mean the world is going to end, though it will be very rough during that time.

Yeah, so somebody Nukes somebody. Does that mean that other countries will Nuke people? I don't think so, because NOBODY wants the radiation, and they know that if they give, they gonna get some in return.

There is big trouble ahead and the next election may put a bounch of weak people in office that just want to appease the radical terrorists.
Appeasements did not work with Hitler and it won't work with the terrorists.
It's only a matter of time before the terrorists get a bio weapon or nuke and become brave enough to use it.
The more you bend and give into terrorists the stronger and braver they feel.

Case in point: Remember The Peanut Farmer President (Carter) - the terrorists attacked & took over the US Embessy in Iran for 144 days.
The day Ronald Reagon became president is the day the US hostages were released. It was later quoted that the leading radicals in Iran did not wan't to deal with the Cowboy President.
Power, Force, & Might is the only thing the terrorists respect.

Then there is the battle along our boarders with illeagel aliens crossing over.Flooding the country and soaking up benifits.
We are headed for very hard times and troubles.

If there is a World War III against China, where would the U.S. military and civilians get their boots and shoes? How would we pay for it since we owe China billions of dollars? If it ever got to actually fighting how would the USA get supplies to its and Allied - if any - forces? We no longer have a U.S. Merchant Marine of any consequence as in World War II.

Any World War III would probably be against China and Russia since they have had joint military exercises.

In the meantime - Let us pray!

If it starts, it will start with IRAN. They have a agenda and they want to bring a bigger global confilct with the west. They are having social problems at home and the Iranian government is blaming the US and isreal for their problems. Look why else would they want a nuke for.There spending all of thier money on making nukes, not refining the crude they have. Iran has to import gasoline.... Trust me it's going to start with Iran.

Why hasn't the IAEA specificaly stated that "Iran is trying to build a Nuclear Bomb"?

China isn't the only nation that makes shoes... or processes food.

I think that World War III will not end the world in any way, though I do think that it will be devastating.

Nuclear weapons are more of a psychological thing and not any real threat (unless it's in the hands of IRAN or a terrorist).

It is so hard to understand Islam; we are told that "most" Muslams are peace loving but just who and where are they- are they the Sunnis who are killing Sheites or vice versa? I strongly feel our greatest theat is Iran and I know of no preemtive strike that failed. Iran is dangerous and undefeatable in ground war-never has been,never will be.We need to deal with them one way or another,sooner or later.
All of my life we have been developing nuclear capabilities...take it from there logicly.

Might as well put the screws to them while we've got well established bases on either side of 'em.
