RE: http://www.military.com/opinion/0,15202,155365,00.html
I know a retired Air Force MSgt may not be considered a warrior. However, for 16 of my 20 I carried a rifle and led troops in one way or another. Being retired for 18 1/2 years has really given me an opportunity to evaluate civilian employment, supervisors and managers. In all cases I decided what jobs I wanted and went out and got them. I out interviewed and impressed whomever was doing the hiring. You could almost say I eliminated any competition. Have there been problems with the jobs I selected. Yes. First I expected civilian employers to have honesty and intrgrity. Second, civilians do not regulary make sound decisions. Former military will always be able to position themselves to rise to the top if they are willing to separate from average civilian. |
