Since I'm already a certified pharmacy technician with over 10 years experience and I currently work in a MTF, would I be required to go to a pharmacy technician C-school after completing the HM A-school?

I only ask because I'm still trying to figure out whether I'm too old (41) for Navy Reserves or not. I keep getting conflicting answers.

Navy Reserve website lists max age as 39 for Non Prior Service, to get a final answer you need to ask a recruiter if the age requirement is waiverable.

If you wanted to be able to work as a Navy Pharm Tech after A-school, the six month C-school for NEC 8482 is mandatory, assuming it is possible to get orders to the school, as no preference would be given to you for being a CPhT (everyone takes the PTCE at C-School), and there might be other Corps School students who want the orders.

I think it would seriously be a waste of money to have to send me to C-school since I already have years of experience working in an MTF pharmacy. I know the system, the technology, and how they handle business. I could save them some money.

Having said that, I realize I'm dealing with the federal government and seldom does it ever do anything with saving some money in mind. Wink
