I just got my job as a AO..can someone tell me how life is as AO? do they do the most work? is it dreadful work? Im a music artist and love to compose and produce work in studios would i have time to do that in navy as an AO? ps.....i dont ship out till december 2009

OP - I'm going to give you some generalities. I'm sure an AO will weigh in and give some specifics.

You're going to be dealing with sizable objects that will go boom and are designed to destroy things and hurt people.

You will be part of a team - don't be the weakest link on the team.

If you wanted to play music as a profession you should have joined the Navy Band. With regard to composing music you may be able to do so on your off-duty time, what little you may have if you end up on an aircraft carrier.
