A brief background,

I have been to MEPS and passed my physical and received an 86 on my ASVBAT.

I also have a BA degree which I was told will get me in as an E3.

I was looking into all branches of the military with an interest in MA or MP.

I chose the Navy because my I grew up in a Navy Family, my dad was a Sr. Chief and was in for 28 years.

What are the possibilities of me actually getting MA...

Right now I"m prepared to walk out of MEPS and go to a different service in order to be involved with security/law enforcement...

I would prefer the Navy though to keep my family tradition going.

Thanks in advance for responses.

slim.. MA is overmanned. IF you get it you could easily be waiting a year to ship out. and if you are that job locked it's possible they won't even send you to MEPS in the first place.

Make sure your recruiter knows that all you want is MA.

Also, make sure that he knows that you will not enlist if you do not get that rating.

If you were enlisting for one of my stations I would tell you to go to another branch right away. The Navy does not need MAs, we need Sailors. We are consistently turning away applicants with higher ASVAB scores than yours because there are ZERO jobs available for them.

Do not waste your recruiters time if all you want is MA. Go to another branch and see what they can do for you.

As a current MA the only question I have is why do you want it?

If its just for law enforcement experience your going the wrong route.

If you have a bachelors degree, why aren't you looking at OCS as an option?
