Deppers,
One thing that is a given, is your hair will be required to meet Navy grooming standards prior to starting training in bootcamp. Both male and female are required to get their hair cut. So why not start your military training with something positive? There are many cancer patients that would dream of having flowing hair that you are about to throw away. Nothing will bring a bigger smile to a young girls face than to have hair while they are going through treatment. So take a long deep thought about this. If you know that it will be gone, then why not do something positive for mankind? I'm sure you will agree, that this is a great way of doing something that will cost you absolutely nothing! Below is an article about this, along with the rules. This article can be seen at 'http://living.health.com/2008/11/20/donate-hair-cancer-patients/ |

My sister did the same. Awesome program
Added bonus for females: If you show up to boot in hair regs they leave your hair alone and don't butcher it. If it's short enough that it doesn't grow out too much in 8 weeks they won't cut it at all. |

My brother did this recently. He's not a squid, just felt the need to do so.
