Ok, I am a bit confused about leave after boot. I know the other branches get a 10 day leave before reporting to continue training. Does the Navy give a 10 day leave after boot before reporting to A School?

Thanks

There is only ONE time and one time ONLY that a Sailor can get 10 days (or more) for leave after PIR, and that is the PIR that occurs the Friday before Christmas. Then on the PIR before Thanksgiving, they can get 4 days leave after PIR.

Other than that there is NO leave (vacation time) after PIR, only liberty (day off). And typically that is day-only liberty (ie not overnight) and the Sailor is required to be back to barracks at the end of the day on both Saturday and Sunday of the PIR weekend.
