I have a drug conviction so i cant be an MA. . . So the next ones on my list are SK or ABH. I think the SK would be kinda cushy, but being around the jets seem verrry intriguing. And please, before you guys start with the "we dont need any potheads in the navy. . . ." save it because im a school teacher now, 28 years old and have learned from my past mistakes--it's not like im doing pot now. geez, i was 18 when i got busted by the police. What as horrible blemish. But i guess you cant have any drug abuse if you want to be a MA which really does suck.... for me anyway. So which one is better in your opinions, ABH or SK? or feel free to guide me another way that doesnt have to do with ficing things like technition or electritian. thanks
Those two ratings are like night and day. SK - long periods of desk work and boredom. ABH - long periods of somewhat dangerous continuous physical exertion and action, praying for a little boredom.
So your asking about SK, ABH and QM (on another thread)...I suggest using the FIND feature for each one and see the differences to determine what YOU find intriquing.
As a school teacher you should know about having other people do one's homework. Same thing here, asking if this is a good rating or if this one is boring is petty and someone's view can be completely different than your own. Use the FIND feature, do more extensive research on the ratings you have a question on and if you can't find an answer or want more specific answers, then ask those. What you are asking for now is quite generalized.

No offense intended but for the longest time they were allowing some waivers for drug related things and just my personal view is this made no sense. Morality waivers for those in charge of enforcing regulations is a bit conterproductive. This isnt to say you would ever put yourself in a bad situation but as you have once whos to say you wouldnt again(I had a chief that was kicked out after popping positive for meth).
Hope you understand and hopefully you will have a productive career in whatever rating you do choose.
SK only exists for the next 20 days. It then changes over to LS (logistics specialist) and combines with postal cleark. Look up those two ratings to get an idea of what the LS rating does. Either way, it is mostly inside work.
