23 year old geezers! I graduated in 92', I think I have the rest of the Deppers beat. That makes me a whooping 30 years old in Boot Camp. Will be turning 31 during A school.
Anna I've got a picture around here somewhere on the cave wall. Its done in charcoal but I think I might be able to scan it. GW we gotta straighten out this confusion over the names. Their either trying to make you older or me younger but they ain't gonna make me any balder.
Yea, I know about scanners, but like I said, I'm not into self embarrassment, besides, the picture would only scare the he** out of everyone here. Maybe one day I will put it up, once the FCC lower the obscenity laws so I wouldn't get into trouble.
Gerry We'll keep them confused and guessing, keep'em off balance, helps them get ready for boot camp.
Anna try this one. Its my old DD from the year 1967 I think right after we rescued the USS Liberty. If you want to see some more than go to USS Liberty website and the first picture you come to is the Liberty with my DD the Davis behind it about 14 miles off the Sinai penisular in June 1967. You just might end up spending some time looking over that site. Let me know.
Rating - Cryptologic Technician Interpretive Can't wait to be active duty already. By the way, I'll be 30 on March 20th, six days after I ship - extra pushups and abuse on that day, I'm sure. I probably still look younger than most of you, though. Most think I'm about 20. Beat that, youngsters.
whoa, you'll have to learn not to give me links to info like that or I will never unglue myself from the computer.
That was something that I had sort of heard of but never read about in depth. Unbelievable. I don't understand how its gone so long without any sort of formal investigation. Thats pretty scary and depressing all at the same time.
Did you actually go out and meet the ship where the attack occurred? How did it even get back into port with a missile hole going all the way through it?? Did you get the chance to talk to anyone on board? Sorry for all the questions, but you've gotten me fascinated with this now.
You've probably seen it, but I found this site really interesting too. http://www.logogo.net/00opening.htm Especially the parts about the about the flights being called back and how the press pretty much ignored the whole incident.
Thank you for the link and picture. It was very informative.
Anna I was on it the next day as the radioman on the rescue crew. It would take to long to answer all your questions here but if you go to the USS Davis website and scroll down to history there an article I wrote about it. The other website you mentioned is by Dr. John Borne and is preaty interesting stuff. There also another site the USS Liberty Inquiry site where a bunch of people, including survivors, discuss the attack and coverup. Those should keep you busy for a bit but then theres a few books and the history channel did a special on it two years ago. Like I've said on the general discussion site, it was a different world back in the 60's and 70's.
