I've been reading on the internet that boxing is still alive and well in the Navy. I was just wondering if this information is correct and if so, when would one start boxing if he/she were intrested? Of course, after bootcamp, and "A" school I assume... But is boxing everywhere in the Navy such as ships and shore or only certain places? Also, anyone who currently is boxing in the Navy, It would be great to hear any of your experiences.

(June 8, 2008) Boatswain's Mate Seaman Joshua Brumfield celebrates after knocking down Seaman Clay Johnson in a "big glove" boxing match during a steel beach picnic aboard amphibious transport dock ship USS Nashville (LPD 13). Nashville is a part of the Nassau Strike Group deployed to the U.S. 6th Fleet area of responsibility supporting maritime security operations. |
