Sometimes it's best to be patient, especially for something you really want. If you sign the Reserve contract, you will have to live by that.

I'm just worried about how hard its going to be & if i'll get stuck in the reserves. I really want active but im also afraid of the level of security clearance needed b/c I heard they will deny for just about anything & then im stuck in whatever rate they put me in.

The best advice I can give you in regard to Security Clearance investigations is to be 100% truthful and up front with everything. If there are minor issues, there are waiver requests in place to deal with any given situation.

There have been plenty of discussions on here about switching in boot camp. IT CAN'T BE DONE. If you sign your contract and go to boot camp as a reservist, you will leave a reservist, and from what I understand, depending on the program you enlist under, you will stay a reservist.

Want to go active duty? Sign an active duty contract.

My contract eight now is active duty but it doesnt leave for 10 mos & I was trying to get out sooner & they have a reserves spot & said that i could go active out of that but from what some of the other posts say it doesnt seem to be as easy as they make it sound.

It's not. The AD Navy would have to have a need for your rate. Sometimes the need is high, sometimes low, sometimes NOT AT ALL.

Like was said, wait it out! Before you know it, your ship date will be here!
