Hello,

I'm 29 years old, almost 30.

I had a couple questions and was hoping an recruiter might be able to speak to me.

First off, am I to old to join?

Two years ago, I was looking to join the Marine Corp but it didn't pan out - I went to MEPS, passed the physical but due to situational problems (low funds - was forced to live out of my vehicle for awhile and move around from city to city, all over south Texas - different apartments) I wasn't able to keep up with the requirements to join at the time (and I wasn't to keen on Infantry which is the MOS I had).

I have a GED but I also possess quite a few college credits (110+ - thinking I got 117) at various colleges here in Texas (Hallmark College, Northwest Vista College, and University of Texas) - would that help me? My main focus was information technology (networks, web development, programing, etc). I am basically a year (or even less) from obtaining bachelors in a few different areas (computer science, information technology, and/or political science).

I also took the ASVAB three years ago (scored a 97 on it), I'm assuming I'd have to take it again?

I also have other issues (from when I was 16/17 back in 1996) that I'd rather not air on a public board, was hoping to speak about those via email or message to a recruiter (if one of ya'll don't mind that is).

Thank you for your time.

Not to old.

If you were in Marine Corp DEP you will require a waiver.

Those college credits will do wonderful things for you. As far as your indiscretions back in 1996 it all depends on what it/they was/were and what you've been doing since.

If you live in Austin go and see the local Recruiter, be up front with everything. If you have your GED, certified transcripts, birth certificate and SSN card bring them with you, if you don't have them get to the office anyway - the Recruiter can get whatever you don't have.

Good luck!
