ok so here's the deal im leave for basic on 27 October and i been reading all about the new uniform polices and all that and i am still confused, can yall help me with telling me all about them and all that? Everything is valuable.
They will tell you and show you everything you need to know about your uniforms in Boot. You will be issued all of the new uniforms from what I have read in All Hands. Other than that, what questions do you have?
well the main questions i have are how will you know what uniform to where during what situation, etc.? and also during basic is it true that you are more in classroom than working out or is it about even? and any tips to not do during basic...besides messed up(which is almost inevitable)?

Dallas basicly answered that question but to add; You will be told what uniform to wear, under what conditions, where you can wear it, and how long to wear it, at any and all commands you may be assigned to, not just while at RTC.

What difference does it make. 100's of thousands have done it before you just fine and hopefully you will also.

Don't become a "mealy mouth". In other words 'mouth shut, eyes and ears open'.
Basic training will teach you how to be a sailor (all the uniform stuff you asked about plus some) and get you in reasonable physical shape. Then you will go to school to learn to do a job. You may have to go to several schools, and specialize in a specific area.

Real simple, you will be told which uniform to wear.
and also during basic is it true that you are more in classroom than working out or is it about even?
Boot changed since I was in, but you will sweat, don't worry about that.

There are plenty of boot camp threads out there, use the find feature, you will have plenty of reading. You will learn what is expected of you and everyone will screw up at some point, don't stress about things. Pay attention to the details.
What NOT to do in boot...fall asleep during watch....wait that can be said for anytime.
The comment - you will always be told what the uniform of the day is. You should never have to figure it out on your own. These decsions are made well above your paygrade. That will become self evident very quickly.
Real simple answer which will apply with regard to after boot camp.
Each command should have a Plan of the Day. One thing that would be in it is what the uniform of the day is, and what the authorized alternate is. The responsibility to read and understand what is in that document rests on the Sailor.
Also, you mess up, you learn from it and move forward.
Just think how many of us have gone through bootcamp as wide-eyed, know nothing kids who never had the advantage of asking questions on the internet about what to expect and came through it just fine. (sorry for the run-on)
While I had the very slight advantage of having a Career Army Enlisted Father- all he said to me was "I'm Army - so I can't tell you exactly what to expect, except this piece of advice; Keep your eyes and ears open and your mouth shut, do what you are told to when you are told to,and you will do just fine."
