This is for my husband. He's an OSVET (Marines) and he got with an RE-1. All his paperwork and such is in line and he is pretty much good to go. He also got his A school picked out couple months ago. But the problem is they won't give him a ship date to TPU in Great Lakes. Basically MEPS told us that they won't know until the end of the month if there's any seats the following month. So we're waiting month to month without a ship date in hopes that they can find him a seat.

Now, I read on here that prior service is waiting up to a year or more to get in. Now, my question is, do you guys have actual ship dates or are you in the same boat as my husband (month to month)?

Not sure how helpful this will be. We just had one of our personnel get out when I got to this command 7 months ago(he was still here my first month). His plans badly fell thru on his civilian life and had really no options but to come back a few months later and they had him standing by till oct 1st to wait for a spot. He was told this past week there is no opening for him even though he'd been out less than 6 months and to try again mid year.
