I have two questions first off. One, to try out and join the Navy SEALs, do you have to first join the Navy then request upon joining the SEALs? And my second question is, during training in the SEALs, if you decide to drop out where do you go from there?

Thanks

You can join the navy with a SEAL contract I believe. However, if you don't think you can make it through training, chances are you cant. If you believe you can make it through all the training then go for it. Look up information on SEAL training and just imagine yourself exceptionally passing the training. There are videos you can watch etc.

If you ship off to boot camp with a SEAL contract and drop out, I believe the Navy places you wherever they need you.

Neither one of you should have posted. There are excellent small references and two excellent guides on SEAL recruitment right on this Board. Go to the "SEAL/SWCC and EOD" forum and read. Then forget about ever posting anything about SEALs again. Your type of people would not make it past Pre-quals.

And you 116xxx were only guessing. What a dumb way to counsel someone.
