I recently enlisted in the Navy, I was offered a few jobs but decided on a CT job. A few days ago I received a call offering me another job this time as a NUC. I've been trying to decided between the two however, one offers very little information, CT. (My recruiter or the internet can't explain much about it) While the other only shows officer options. I'm trying to decide on my rating for the next 6 years of my life and my CT boot ship date is in May. If anyone could help me with information on either one I would greatly appreciate it.

I would need a little more information. Specifically CT__? (Fill in the blank - available choices are I, M, N, R, or T)

Briefly:

CTM's maintain, troubleshoot and repair electrical and electronic systems used by the other CT Ratings (except CTT). In that role, they learn a lot of electronic theory as well as possibly some computer network administration and configuration skills.

CTTs develop intelligence information from non-communication based electromagnetic radiation (e.g. radar). Some CTTs are also trained to maintain troubleshoot and repair the systems that CTTs work on (e.g. the SLQ-32). In that role, they learn a lot of electronic theory and troubleshooting methodology.

CTIs develop intelligence information based on adversary verbal communications.

CTRs develop intelligence information based on adversary non-verbal communications.

CTNs develop intelligence information regarding adversary use of the Cyber domain.

Hope that helps a little.

I apologize I'm new to Navy wording. I'll remember that rating not MOS. Thanks for the information. CTN and it helped a bit.
