hello my name is Dustin and I need some advice on the best ways to lose weight, mostly stomach fat. I work outside monday-friday doing physical labor, I work for a tree removal company which requires me to carry limbs and blocks of wood. I go home covered in sweat. Yet I still stay the same weight. Is there any diet plans out there and workout plans. My age is 23 and I weigh 224 pounds and my stomach size is 42 inches. I need to be at either 191 pounds or 37.5 inches in the waist. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Some basic things:
1) Exercise
2) Eat healthy food
3) Eat less calories than you burn

See you doctor and seek his/her advice. They often will refer you to a nutritionist that will help you come up with a diet that will provide you the necessary nutrients without more fat and calories than you need.
You should never try to lose more than a couple pounds without seeing your doctor first.

i was in the same position as you about a year and a half ago. i weighed 220 and went down to 185 in 4 months. its not hard, just self discipline mostly. i only had a lowfat muffin or cereal for breakfast, low calorie sandwich (turkey is best) for lunch and lean meat with salad or something like that for dinner. if you want to snack try a granola bar or yogurt or something. i also used an elliptical machine for 30 minutes about 4-5 days a week too. if you stick to that you should lose a bunch of weight. it worked for me.

Like Crabby said, this subject has been covered ad nauseum, both in the Navy threads as well as other parts of military.com.

Only things I will say are 1) talk with your doctor about what you want to do lest you set yourself up for failure and 2)stay away from the designer nutrition, weight-loss supplements, etc. Most of that stuff is of dubious value at best, and if you're not careful may contain something that will cause a positive result on a drug test, which in turn shuts you down hard.

Walking helped me lose 120 pounds in just about 4 years. I also changed my eating habits and still eat what I want but not alot of it. Plan a time that is good for you every day to do your exercise plan. I usually do mine after dinner after the dishes are done. This way it becomes habit. It has to be a lifestyle change and you have to have your mind set upon achieving it. I have reaped the benefits. from doing this.

My blood pressure is down to 90/60. My chloesterol is good both LDL/HDL. All of that stuff. I actually have muscle tone in my abs, chest and legs.

You have to want it. Tell yourself I can instead of I can't. Think about what you are eating and just trim the portions back.
